^ i hope his experience doesn't count against him. the fact is, he's the best one for the job, so he deserves to get it no matter what.

EDIT: i finally found and rewatched lee's performance and i'm still tingling from it. i would give anything to have him sing to me.

Wow, what a bad show tonight. There was only Keith who got really good comments and maybe a few others. I could tell that Rob was struggling with his song - Take That seem to be a curse on this show. I was pretty surprised with the comments Lee got, mainly because he has always been popular. I don't think he thought he had done too great either.

I'm actually pretty pleased that Chris went as I've never really liked him. If I was in the front row, I'd be scared he would eat me with those teeth. :teehee:

hahaha. me and my flatmates are all pretty scared of his teeth too.

i thought they were far too harsh on lee tonight - okay so it wasn't his best night, but to sing like that with a virus is pretty darn impressive; and he still performed well and completely owned the stage, even if his vocal wasn't up to scratch.

Yep. Out of all them, he is the only one who facially, I don't think looked even remotely pretty enough to be Joseph. He accentuated his already large teeth by having them whitened.

Well there have been a few of them who have had coled, infections etc, so anyone really who mentions their health or even tries to pass it off as an excuse doesn't do anything for me, but Lee didn't seem to be doing this, and although he asn't the best, saying it was rubbish was pretty harsh. Even Ben's worst wasn't called rubbish.

yeah, i really respected the fact that lee didn't mention his illness. in theatre you just have to get on with it, and he did. having said that, i still think that it was only fair to take it into consideration because it was naturally going to effect his vocals.

i think they're harder on lee because they expect more from him, which is understandable but unfair. never mind, he can wipe the floor with the competition anyway.

Well personally, from what the judges said this week, even if the good ones are are on form again next week, there are a couple of people now, who are real contenders who weren't before. At this moment in time, I am no longer sure who is a dead cert to win.

Of course part of the fun for me is seeing Andrew. :-) I love this thing he and Graham Norton have going, as they are quite funny to watch. :P Considering Andrew is a Lord, he really seems to work well with everyone and he doesn't distance himself from the "ordinary" people.

yeah, i've never like keith, but he really impressed me tonight - i think he could provide some stiff competition.

i really disliked andrew before the maria programme last year (i much preferred his brother, who i fell in love with when i saw him playing cello when i was about nine), but i think he's come across really well on these programmes. his reputation's on the line but he still seems genuinely interested in heping the contestants as well as himself, and i like that.

It was a very good performance by Keith tonight. He does have a good voice. I'm still not sure if he could be Jospeh, but I am sure there are other roles out there for him.

Well I had never seen Andrew at all before the Maria show. For some reason my mum hated him (really hated) so she wasn't even going to watch Maria. She saw a bit of it, got interested and was pleasantly surprised at how nice he seemed to be, and how anxious he is to try and help the contestants and give them advice (not insults). Now she really likes him. So I'm glad that in a way, he himself is finally getting to be known by the public who probably pay to see his shows, and he's not just someone with lots of money who gets stage shows up and running. I always got the impression (and still do) when Graham announces Andrew's name and the Phantom music plays, he almost seems embarrased and shy. :teehee:

Oooh....I am SO not happy with the results tonight. Rob was given a crappy song, that was incredibly tough to sing, and performed it well. There are at least 2 people in the compeition that should have left weeks ago. :disgust: Why Rob is almost being punished for being a builder and being raw, I don't know, as I thought that's what the show was about - giving everyone a chance to be on a West End stage. :confuzzled:

Well he may not be Joseph, but I doubt very much he will ever need his hard hat again.

you're right, rob shouldn't have gone tonight. ben and craig should both have left before him.

well, lee was back to his usual marvellous self tonight. i tell you, when he sings my spine turns to custard and i get gossepimples all over (to quote some like it hot). i can't stop smiling whenever i see him either.

me and my family are going to see the show in august and obviously i'm hoping it will be lee, but after the last couple of weeks i wouldn't whinge too much if it was keith. he'd have a lot of work to do if he were to pull off playing the older jospeh, but he does have a fantastic voice and he performed tonight's song brilliantly. he's not as good as lee, but he definitely has a bright future.

Well I am glad I am not the only one who thinks he shouldn't have left this week.

Yep, Lee was back on form this week. WOW, you're going to see the show! Well I hope for your sake it is Lee....but what if it was Lewis or Daniel? Would you still see it?

Keith, I think has got the best voice but it's probably in the wrong body at the moment. I'm not sure I can see him as Joseph, but his voice is so good I could probably ignore that.

well, i've already booked the tickets, so i'll be going whoever it is. it'd be good to see the show anyway.

for me, harsh as it may sound, it's keith's face that's the biggest problem - with those droopy eyes it's hard for him to look anything but sad. and he's so little that it would be hard to take him seriously as the powerful figure of authority that joseph becomes. but yeah, if he does win, his voice is good enough that i may be able to overlook that.

i still want lee though. i think my flatmates think its slightly insane how much i love him. lol

Yeah, but I'd be slightly upset if Ben was in the role....seeing as how quite a few good people were kicked out to save him. :teehee:

Hmm... I can see what you mean. I think it's his teeth that do it for me. And I don't think his hair does anything for him, it seems to accentuate his large eyes and large teeth. He was AWESOME tonight - I have heard three classic versions of Always on my Mind and he gave them all a run for their money.

 I know how you feel. Although my fave has now left. *sigh*

I think though the standard is slightly less this year - last year there was at least one person who was consistently excellent all the way through - maybe it's because they are blokes, but I don't remember so many tears and depressing moments, bad comments and lost confidence as with these guys. :eyeroll:

if it's ben, i could always take some eggs and sneak round to the stage door to pelt him with them afterwards. haha. i can't see that happening though.

yeah, i love how the men have been crying so much more than the women did. weak!

i meant to ask before, who are you supporting now?

I would glady pay good money to be able to do that. ;)

Lol, what with the nerves and the lack of confidence. Quite funny actually.

Hmm....probably Keith....I know he most likely won't win, but he has made a great impression on me...and he's so young! Imagine what he will be like in 10 years and he'll still be young!

yeah, that's what's so excting about keith - he's so young that he's still got time to learn and grow, and he could really be something special.

even after joseph is over and done, i'll be keeping track of lee and keith's careers and going to see them as often as my budget will allow.
