I watched 18 1/2 hours out of the 26 broadcasted... ish very tired

I just want to say that they made the concerts themselves as green as possible, they had so many different types of recycling things on site, they used hybrid vehicles as much as possible, the energy used for lighting etc was coming from renewable energy(wind, solar etc) and they bought carbon credits to set off the rest. In Sydney, the tickets were made from recycled paper, in London they had a glass crusher on site, along with gum bins(the rubber from the gum goes to make other things), in New York they handed out tree seeds.

The concert is to raise awareness, and any money raised goes to some Earth charity that I cant remember the name of. And if people went just for the music, then they couldnt escape the message. ALmost every performer I say mentioned something about Global Warming and how to reduce your carbon foot print etc. And the people who presented the performers did the same.

And over here in Canada, they showed Environmental shorts that people have made, and during the breaks they played at least one trailer for Live Earth or the ones with celebrities doing the different tips.

I thought it worked, and all those naysayers that say that globay warming isnt real, and all the people that believe in it are crack heads, were just proved wrong. nearly 2 billion people watched, and I bet nearly 2 billion people are going to start changing their lives. We decided to buy a hybird vehicle, after my many screaming matches with my parents about global warming. It works.

But I missed AFI in New York, so that was sad. But I discovered lots of new bands that I want to check out, so thats ok.

Wow, I couldn't have said it better myself Darky!

They said that these were going to be the greenest concerts ever. Doing everything they could, using everything they could that is green.

I have read some articles (in the NY Times) that were very skeptical and critical of the event. But there always have been critics, and probably always will be.
But the fact that SO many came together for this, I definately have hope that it worked.

When I watched the one in Sydney, EVERY person who was up on stage...when they were done with whatever they were doing told the audience "Remember WHY you're here!"
So, I don't think people who went, or watched just for the music could leave without knowing why they should be there or listening. I think everyone who tuned in, whether they wanted to or not, came away with the message to change the way we live.

By the by Darky, I LOVE your new sig set. Very wonderful!
