Ánië: yeah, people are calling her Stargirl, which cracks me up. It sounds like the name for a unicorn, or my little pony or something. Or some weird superhero.

I don't know...it's very in keeping with Narnia that we don't know her name, don't you think? I don't mind it. It adds to her mystery.
Voyage of the Dawn Treader was my favorite when I was little and my parents read us the books, and then I was on the edge of my seat when I watched the BBC movie (still am, actually). That movie is one of my all-time favorites. So I'm interested to see what the crew comes up with for this one. My group are already claiming characters for dressing up in 2010...I think I'm likely to get stuck as a Dufflepud. Maybe I'll do Reepicheep, I have mouse pants with a tail.

The prime example of falling in love based on beauty was I think, proven by Caspian's line, "she had freckles, and squints" or something like that, referring to a girl he was asked to marry. That's another thing I find fault with in the Narnia books; the seemingly shallow-ness of Caspian. Would Aslan really look at the outward beauty in comparison to the heart? I didn't agree with lewis on writing that in.
and it would be funny if Caspian said,k "What's your name?" lol. She'd probably say, "Like I'm gonna tell you before we get married"

You know, I just thought of something: in PC, Caspian is about 14 (about the same age as Peter), and VDT takes place three Narnian years after PC, so Caspian would be only about 17/18 when he gets married. Which isn't unheard of, but it does seem a bit young.

well, back then it may have been normal. people back in the 1800s would get married when they were 14 or 15. so, I don't think it's anything unusual. But I wish I was RAmandu's daughter!!!!!

Or, I can picture something like...
Caspian: Will you marry me, Ramandu's Daughter?
I'm mostly excited about seeing Eustace's transformation. That was always my favorite part. And more Reepicheep! Yay Reepicheep!

yes, I'm very excited about seeing more of Reepicheep. I think VDT is more his story than anybody else's! and I agree with Eustace; I look forward to seeing him be turned from a dragon back to a boy.

I just don't see why they think the release date has to be so far ito the future. I think they have already finished filming it or are comming close if I am not mistaken

Not quite. Eustace was only cast in June, and according to NarniaWeb, they start filming in 2009.
Quote: MyEntertainmentWorld.com has updated with new information from the production team for The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, confirming the January 2009 filming start date and mentioning three shooting locations (Mexico, Prague, and New Zealand). This information was updated on July 2, so it's very recent. You can read the film description here (scroll down to the listings for July 2). Subscribers can see the casting call information as well.
Updated July 9: The filming locations have been changed to Rosarito, Mexico and Australia on MyEntertainmentWorld.com's listings.

Yes...Edmund has to go out with a bang before we see him again in TLB! =D
*Waits anxiously for VDT news* But I'll really try to stay spoiler-free this time.
And I'll probably fail. XD

About the Lucy\Caspian thing: I don't see that happening. At all.
The reason the filming was pushed back was because of the writer's strike, and possibly because of how badly PC did in the box office. Which, it would have helped had people not been so disgruntled with the film before they even saw it. That makes me mad.
I've heard rumors that the release could be pushed to 2011 or even 2012! Gee whiz...by the time TLB is made I'll be too old to care.

Well... I'm excited to see they are making it, but I just hope they do it more like the first one and not like Prince Caspian. IE stick closer to the books and don't add things that are not suposed to be in it.
I'm a bit of a purist but in my opinion the lion witch and the wardrobe was perfect!
Prince caspian (which i have not even got the nerve up to watch yet) I think they totally screwed up...
I have talked to people who have watched it and seen advertisements.
So yeah... i hope they don't ruin voyage of the dawn treader inthe same way!

again, how can you say something is terrible based on someone else's opinions? It's not fair to the cast or crew for they made an excellent film that brought new depth to the characters. If you happen to get the dvd with the bonus features, I suggest you watch the film with the commentary by Adamson and the cast, as well as watching the deleted scenes and other featurettes on the bonus disc.
There's good reason for what they did, and it makes me mad to hear people say something is terrible when they haven't seen it yet. Yeah, there were things I wish they wouldn't have changed or taken out; but special effects and extra shots COST MONEY. maybe the team ran out of the funds to do the things they wanted. I know that I hated the way the dryads were brought to life, but those visual effects cost a pretty penny. They can't do everything to please everybody, especially the book fans. Not everybody knows the book. Not everybody will even read teh book after seeing the film. They were trying to make a film that would appeal to both the book audience and to an audience that hadn't read teh book(s).
Sorry if that offended anybody, but seriously, get over it. I don't think VODT will be ruined, and I hope you see it before calling it ruined.
It's out of our hands as fans.

I am happy they are making VotDT... for a while I admit I was worried since there was talk of them NOT making it because of how poorly PC did... but then again I think the budget for VotDT is still depending on how much money the PC DVD brings in. Either way, at least they'll be making VotDT... and they'll be saving at least some money by not hiring Anna and Will... of course, then again Ben might've gone up in price since he has gotten more popular. I don't know how all that stuff goes though... seriously, Disney has enough money to make the whole series no matter what. though I know it's stupid to make something when it's not even paying itself off... but still... just had to say that.
Really, Petra? I'm still hearing it'll be out in 2010... which I hope is true because, honestly, they need to get moving with these. I mean, if they keep on going at this pace it'll be 7 or 8 or more years before TLB is out! And who knows what could happen in that time. Heck, I'll be 24 or 25 and LWW will be ancient and already ready for a re-make! lol If they could release one movie after the other like LotR, I think they could do it for Narnia. *shrugs* it might help hold peoples' attention and collect more fans too. Who knows.
