^ OMG, 3D laptops? *gets a ray gun*

Of course, if the public are not buying into bluerays... they'll just have to make DVD's better. My brother read in his Empire magazine that bluerays are not doing as well as expected so maybe.... there is hope. DVD's were a natural progression from videos - small, compact, better visuals, better sound, easier to find your place, chapter menus, features and more.... bluerays.... not much difference really. Now if bluerays meant you could watch by having something imbedded direct in your brain so you didn't need a disc... now that's progression.

Hey, it could happen. I watching either the Canadian Dragon's Den or the US version Shark Tank (can't remember which one it was - millionaires willing to invest in people's businesses etc) and someone wanted to plant something in people's ears, which needed surgery, so they wouldn't need to walk around with a bluetooth and risk it falling out and breaking. AND they needed to recharge the chip by sticking a wire in their ears at night AND more surgery would be required when they wanted an upgrade.

This guy was asking for $200,000 dollars for this... the revenue for DVD's would surely be more.

I'm a bit old fashioned here and definitely prefer the old chunky TVs over the flat HD ones. Neither LCD nor Plasma has the proper blackness and contrast (everything looks rather gray and pale, no matter the settings).

As for blu-rays? I'm still not sold. I still buy DVDs. Some transfers have been excellent on blu-ray and some have been awful and half the time it just seems like a waste of money for me, would I finally switch over. What makes me mad though is that some studios are now releasing DVDs with next to no special features on them and yet their blu-rays are packed with goodies. Or they release DVD and blu-ray combo editions but the special features are only available if you have a blu-ray player. Evil!

I'm not against blu-ray. I'm just perfectly content with the DVD format.
