I like your banner Banana. :-)

Wish I could PD, but it doesn't work for non-Americans, I've tried it with previous seasons.

Well you enjoy it guys! I might sneak in later to get the general gist of it, but I probably won't be around until I see the episodes in a few weeks.

Say hi to Frank for me. :P

Ok, in a quick summary, tell me what they have done. Are we back at season 1 again?

They're not back in season one. It is split up between them being on the island, i.e. the bomb sent them back to the present, and them being in 2004 where the plane lands in LAX and they never make it to the island.

It was an incredibly confusing episode. My fiance has deemed that one of them is a flashback and the other is something else.

Ummm, okay, now seriously this is the most emotional confusion I’ve ever had while watching a show… or while doing almost anything. Ever since watching it (twice now) I have been up and down between loving it and hating it and back again. I just… gahhhh, I don’t know which one to feel. :headwall: I am so confused. So let's see if I can't figure it all out and see where I stand in one post, eh?

...MAJOR SPOILERS...

So what I loved/adored about it:

the whole brotherly like thing Miles and Sawyer had going on. Loved it. I badly wanted to see something like it happen so when Sawyer asked Miles to stay back with him I was a very happy girl. especially when Miles was gonna go get some beers just so they could chill and talk, you know? That was amazing and very touching.

The Suliet parts. Loved. They were brilliantly acted and just downright beautiful. so heartbreaking. Poor Sawyer.

The Ben-Richard-Flocke scenes. Almost all of these were win. I just loved the scene where Smokey/Flocke destroys Bram and those other punks and Ben just watches all wide-eyed like. It was genius and... gosh, poor Ben! *dies* Also I was thrilled to finally know for sure that Richard WAS a slave on the Black Rock... I've had that hunch for a while now so the confirmation was rather cool. I also enjoyed when Flocke was talking to Ben. Those were good scenes. I felt terrible for Ben. He's broken. And he just needs a hug. *huggles* And I just loved how you could tell he regretted killing both Jacob and Locke. Just... gah. I loved that.

The characters. All the characters were brilliant. Not so much in the Alt. Reality but in the normal Island stuff they were. I don't think I've ever liked Jack or Locke this much. Honestly, it scares me how much I like season 5 and now season 6 Jack. and Locke... well, darnit, I want the real Locke to make some sort of epic come back now! Miles was very sweet, very caring and just... so amazing in this episode. <3 Sawyer was so emotional... powerful emotion. He was awesome.

Alright, on to the stuff I did not like/was unsure of:

The Temple. I'm just... I dunno. I don't care at all about the interpreter or the Japanese dude. They annoy me. In fact, if Smokey went there and destroyed all of them and the Temple I couldn't care less. Did not like it. I didn't even really like the Temple's music/theme. Honestly, LOST is mythical, yes, but to some extent I do think they're taking it a bit too far. Too far from what LOST is suppose to be: character driven. I just hope they get away from that place ASAP.

The Alternate Reality or whatever it is. If this is only a "flashwhatif" scenario then I think it's pretty cool. It's cool to see that their lives were actually better with the crash. However, if it's some sort of present day thing or flashback or who-knows-what-else I don't think I'm a fan. it basically reduces the first 5 seasons to nothing. Bleh. I just hope they're very minor to the over all outcome of the story... maybe the two realities will merge or something. I dunno. Just not a fan as of right now... but it'll depend on where they go with it.

Sayid. Okay, now THIS could go several different ways. THIS is what I'm concerned about most at the moment. Now if that's really Sayid come back to life... well, then this means he is extremely special 'cause "dead is dead. you don't come back from that." and if he does... well, then gosh I am excited to see what it all means. Maybe since the Others don't have a leader anymore he will be their new leader. And THAT excites me. However, if he's the new Jacob or Smokey... I dunno. I'll be enticed to say "to heck with the 6th season" and drop it. For starters, if they did it to Locke and now to Sayid (who makes even less sense) where will it end? Perhaps they'll all just become variations of Jacob or Smokey before the end and that'll reduce everyone's favorite characters to nothing. And that's just stupid. No. Locke was one thing. Locke was reasonably understandable. I DON'T THINK Sayid will become like Locke... I really don't for several reasons:
first Smokey can only be in one place at a time (presumably) and he was Locke at that time so I don't think he could also become Sayid.
Also, why would Jacob send Hurley to the Temple to save Sayid if he wanted Sayid's body? Just let the dude die in the jungle and then take it.
Why would Jacob even want Sayid's body to be honest? I believe Jacob let Ben kill him... seriously, I think if he had wanted to live he would have. So it makes no sense that he would've known he had to die, let Ben kill him just so he could return as Sayid.
And both Smokey and Jacob (I presume... if he can at all) can only duplicate people. They cannot actually enter their body and take over.

There were several other reasons I thought of... I forgot them though. lol anyway, right now a lot is hinging on that. I do not want to see Jacob become Sayid... or vise versa. Whatever.

Lastly, NO ALIENS.

Mostly I'm worried 'cause I simply cannot see where the writers are going with this. And it scares me to death that they will completely ruin everything. I mean, as it stands I know how I personally would wrap it all up to make it completely amazing and epicful. I would end the Alt. Reality as soon as possible, I would kill the people at the Temple, make Sayid (the real Sayid) the leader of the rest of the Others at the beach along with Jack, Sawyer, Kate, Miles, Hurley, Frank, Sun, Jin and the rest and they would go running through the jungle and stuff trying to do whatever. I would have Ben despise Smokey and work as an inside man for Sayid & Co. and help them in the end against Smokey. I would have him become the diabolical Ben we all know and love and do just a lot of twisted great Benish stuff. In the end Smokey would find out and Ben needs to get an epically heroic and amazing death scene. Then there's a huge showdown between our favorite Losties and Smokey. They defeat him (however that's done) and they become similar to the old Hostiles/Others on the Island. They settle down there and protect it. No perverted, twisted ending and also nothing blatantly "happily ever after". That is roughly how I'd end it... give or take some things. I'm just afraid that the writers are headed in a totally different direction that will... well, ruin it all, ruin all the greatness they have building up and completely not take advantage of any of it. Meehhh. Mostly it's just tormenting me 'cause I'd really like to know where they're headed and if it's even worth my time to watch... just a tiny bit of reassurance would mean the world. That and getting back to being more character based with a bit of the mythology ect instead of stuffing mostly mythology at us with just a bit of the characters on the side. There's so much potential... don't ruin it!

:headwall:

...End Spoilers...

Bleh, honestly, I still just do not know what to think about it... and I've seen it twice now.... the first hour was better than the second, granted but yeah. I do feel better now having gotten pretty much all of it out. :) Now I guss I'll know more when I see more. ;)

Those two episodes were a blast! I absolutely loved every minute I watched! On the other side it was confusing as hell :P

*goes over to answer PD's epic and huge spoiler post*

SPOILERS

I did also loved the bonding between Miles and Sawyer (though it was more Miles who was bonding :P) especially since Miles was not so communacative before.

The Suliet parts were just too emotional and sad. I was just wimpering out loud when Juliet died.. because I hoped that in some way she would live. The worst part was that Juliet realised that it had not worked and that the bomb had not made everything undone.. And what about the thing she wanted to tell Sawyer? "It worked?" Was that it? And what worked? Or was it just something Miles made up because in fact he's not able to talk to ghosts or dead people under pressure. Personally I suspect the last.

But oh boy.. poor Sawyer.. I must say that he made my day. All his scenes were so powerful and intense. I'm convinced that Juliet was his true love and I can't bear how devastated he is now. (Though I'm happy that he did not run off back to Kate, yet.)

So who's who you call Flocke? I guess you mean the fake-Locke? And he's like the smook-monster? I really did not like that thing. I liked that the monster was an uncontrollable thinkg in the jungle instead of a transformated bad-guy. :confused2:
And what's the story on the Black Rock? What's up with the slaves? Because I really didn't understand what fake-Locke meant with the remark to Richard.

I thought that all characters were amazing, but particularly Sawyer, Hurley (he was awesome!) and Jack. What I love about Jack is the fact that he realises that he messed things up and destroyed Sawyer's life, but that he does not loose his self-assurance. He's still able and willing to take responsibility and make things right. *squee*

I did not like the Temple-thing either. I thought it was strange that there was like a whole community that we've never seen before and that some were now strolling through the jungle.. And that Japan-theme.. I'm not sure what to think of it. What did you mean with 'Lost is mythical' PD?

The altenate reality was kinda cool. I'm not sure what it means, but I'm sure it has a purpose. I mean, why else would the coffin of Jack's father (who's seemingly a key-figure on the island) have disappeared or did Desmond (who shouldn't be there) pop up in the plane? I do not hope that the alternate reality will become true.. but there's something about it, which makes me think that it will play an important part for our characters on the island. How else could Jack have recognised Desmond? There must be a link.

Hmm.. your theories on Sayid made me change my mind. I first thought as well that Sayid was to be some kind of leader of the Others. But now I find more and more clues that he'll be the reincarnated Jacob. First, the foot of the statue, it was a kind of Egyptian statue, just like the wooden cross-thing, which was in Hurley's guitar case, was something Egyptian. The Egyptians believed in reincarnation and stuff. Second, I think that the Japanese guys, purposely let Sayid die, it must have been some kind of ritual to allow the reincarnation of Jacob. Third, it becomes more and more clear that some kind of war or struggle will come between Jacob and the "fake-Locke". Perhaps this takes form by them both being reincarnated in the bodies of our Losties?
Hm, I must admit that it sounds far-fetched and I do not like the idea myself.. but still, it might be possible. I like your version of the plot better PD! ;)

And what's up with Aliens? Did I miss a part or what? What did you mean with that ? :)

End of spoilers

I can't wait for the next episode.. I need some more answers! :teehee:

Like I mentioned over in the TV thread I haven't watched it for a long time, but I did tune in to the recap episode and parts of the first and second [family issues were going on and I needed to comfort my mom and such] but anyway, from what I saw, I was intrigued by it. Of course it was beyond confused by what was happening, but the recap sorta cleared some of it up. I dunno, part of me would like to watch the entirety of all seasons, while another part of me was just like, "Meh." It definitely gave me mixed feelings and reactions, but I must say I've jumped on the Ben train along with PD for the sole reason that he reminds me so much of Beckett.

SPOILERS...

Will, *squee* I am so excited that I wasn’t the only one thrilled with the bonding Sawyer and Miles. :teehee: Miles was win.

I’m with you. I sorta suspect that Miles wasn’t telling Sawyer the whole truth. Not only for the reason you pointed out, Will, but also because he seemed so hesitant of wanting to tell Sawyer at all. He seemed like he really just wanted to help him move on and he just really didn’t want to do it. There’s something fishy going on there.

Aye, Flocke is the fake-Locke, the MIB, whoever you call him. Also Smokey. There were slaves on the Black Rock… and I presume Richard was one of them… I cannot wait for the Richard centric episode where, I think, we’ll learn more about this mystery.

Well, I dunno, LOST has always ventured into the mythical realms, you know? Like, with the Smoke Monster and with the idea of time travel and the hatch and all those ideas… not to mention Hurley and Miles talking to dead people. However, I did think this was a bit much.

I think my theories on Sayid NOT being Jacob are still pretty strong (and I am encouraged by a new sneak peek into the next episode) ‘Cause I’d hate to see that. Hate with all my guts. Also, along with what I already said the Japanese dude didn’t know Jacob was dead until after Sayid had died. When Hurley told him he seemed pretty shaken. And I still believe Jacob wanted to die for a reason. He wouldn’t want to be brought back, I don’t think.

I didn’t mean anything in particular. There’s just a lot of theories going around about aliens. And after what Flocke/Smokey/whoever-he-is said how he just wanted to get back home… well, I’m just scared they’re gonna resort to aliens. That just seems like such a cop-out. Taking the easy way out and it’d be completely lame.

I agree, I seriously need more answers NOW so I can figure out whether I should hate the entire rest of the season or not…

Ara, the recap was narrated by Michael Emerson… AKA Ben! Which I found so amazing. He has such a brilliant voice! *death*

Hmmm, I dunno, I don’t think it was the best episode to jump into. It definitely does not hold a candle to seasons 1-4 and it didn’t, I didn’t think, give a person a good idea of what the real Ben and such are. Ben is so much more amazing. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the broken, hurting Ben but… the season 2, 3 and 4 Ben are beyond amazing! Haha, I think everyone was beyond confused. ;) Yeah, Ben sorta does though.... *coughcoughBenisbettercough*

Spoilers (I guess)

I never thought of Sayid being like Flocke or Jaccob. I always assumed he just wasn't dead, because when Miles sat next to him he had a weird look on his face like he knew that Sayid wasn't dead.

Also the part where Flocke told Ben that John's last thought was "I don't understand" I seriously wanted to cry! I love Locke so much, he's my fave and that line just made me so sad!

I wonder what is going to happen in the "alternate reality" where they make it to LAX. I wonder if Jack will help Locke walk again.

And as far as Smokey wanting to go home. My Fiance thinks he wants to get off the island, not necessarily off the planet :P.

Ah-ha, I also noticed that about Miles and that too makes me hopeful! I just need to stop reading all these stupid theories people are coming up with... they're messing with my mind. Ugh.

*continues to keep fingers crossed that the Alt. Reality is just a "what if" deal or something similar*

haha, well, I hope (and even think) that's it as well... ;) again, I probably just need to stop reading and worrying over all these stupid theories some LOST fans(?) are coming up with. :eyeroll: Seriously.

I feel like I've talked about the show so many times in the past few days that I really don't feel like repeating it all here. :-P PD and I have been having the same conversation that has been happening here, and I agree with pretty much everything everyone has said so far. :)

Suliet was so beautiful. But there's still a part of me holding on to Skate, hence the set. I thought their tiny scene was so lovely, and it immediately brought me back to Season 2 when Sawyer was sick. Where do you all think the triangle will go based on the premiere? I don't think the writers will give anything away too early on in the season, so I'm hesitant to make any predictions.

Okay so it premiered in the UK on Sky1 last night and I'd join in the convo with you guys, but my brain is still trying to process all that info.

WOW...Off to a wonderfully brain teasing start.

---Spoilers---

First of all, I like this new alternate reality mode! I always was torn between wanting the bomb to work for the characters' sake and not wanting it to work because... well, then it wouldn't be LOST, would it? :) Now I get to have my cake and eat it too. :D It was really neat to see what would have happened, more or less. I especially liked the scene between Jack and Locke. It was sort of sweet to see them reaching out to one other since they had hated each other so much on the Island.

Secondly, I like 'Flocke'. For some reason the idea that the smoke monster that we've all been scared to death of has a soul and a home really appeals to me. I do wish he would stop beating up Ben and Richard, though!

Thirdly, I don't Sayid is Sayid. He just didn't seem like Sayid when he woke up. But that's as far as my theory goes. :P

Jack met Desmond before the crash, though. I can't remember the exact circumstances, but it was at a stadium and it had something to do with Jack's ex-wife. :erm: But I wonder, too, what Desmond was doing there. And where was Shannon? Isn't Shannon supposed to be on the plane with Boone?

LOL clearly the creators of Lost came up with the wrong name for the show. Clearly it should have been "Head-f*cked" instead, because that is how I feel after every episode, hahaha.

***SPOILERS***SPOILERS***SPOILERS***

I'm NOT a fan of Juliet and Sawyer. The scene was heart-breaking. It truly was. But I cannot stand Juliet and was only happy to see her go. It should be Sawyer and Kate or nothing! I wanted to jump through the screen and hug Sawyer though. :(
