I'm glad to hear someone else does that too.
Boy, I don't know which cursed crew I like better... probably the Black Pearl crew from CotBP.... but Davy's crew are pretty cool too... *thinking it over*
P.S I was just wondering where does everyone get their Pirate stuff (posters, accessories, games, ect. ect)? Because my brother and I have been looking and looking and other then eBay we can't find any posters of Barbossa or Elizabeth from AWE anywhere (it's mostly all just Jack and some of Will)! And other then Claire's I can't find any other place that carries PotC keychains... I'm looking for Will and even our Claire's doesn't seem to have any with him on them! So does anyone have any thoughts or helpful advice on where to look?

Well, I only have the DVDs of the first two movies and 2 posters (guess who they're both of ) but I got them from my local Walmart. And I know there was at one time cardboard cutouts of Jack and Will at an entertainment store called FYE. Beyond that, I'm not sure.

They don't really sell Barbossa or Elizabeth stuff, since its mostly fangirls that buy these things, its Jack and Will, and there isn't a large enough fan base to cause them to make Norrington, Barbossa, Elizabeth or Davy stuff(except for Davy's key and Calypso locket). And if they do make other stuff, its specially made, and extremely expensive.
I remember the question I was going to ask. Me and a friend were really bored while we were waiting for her mom while we were in the grocery store, so we went over to the book section and started looking at those really cheesy AWE novelizations(come on, A Strength of Will? How lame is that.) and in one it said something about Tia Dalma, and her being old. DO you think she's old? I just thought it was the spirit inside her that was old, not necessarily her body etc.

Our Claire's in Leeds has quite a lot of stuff, badges, wristbands, jewellery and stuff (most of the jewellery isn't very good, but whatever). And the Disney Store has some quite good stuff, and they sell Calypso/Davy's locket as a keychain. My boyfriend bought a 7" Davy Jones for only £5.99 yesterday (it was reduced from £20), it looks really good! I took a pic of it before I left his house, it's not very good as it was on my phone, but nonetheless:
(Yeah, we stook his peg leg in an inflatable mini paddling pool - we couldn't find a bucket big enough! )
So, basically, Claires and the Disney Store are the only places I can think of. For posters, I got them off http://www.play.com, which is a great site if you're English or from Jersey. I also managed to get three posters of Will, Jack and Davy from Borders, my boyfriend asked at the desk if they had any spare at the time of the DMC DVD release and they had a pile of them! They're a little battered, but fro free, I can't complain. When the AWE DVD comes out, try asking at your local store that's advertising it if they're willing to give anything up when they stop advertising it! Sorry I can't be of more help.

I have Barbossa and Elizabeth posters (And Sao Feng and pretty much everyone else) from France when I went there in late May... Except they don't say At World's End, it's Jus'qu'a Bout Du Monde (I think that's spelt right). That's probably no help, I doubt you'll go to France just to buy some posters...

Taurquende, Thank you for the well wishes for my family.
Ah, very good point. Maybe it was just a jealous impulse. That would make alot of sense.
Well, personaly I prefer the Davy Jones crew. They just had that really cool cruel feeling pouring out of them. I like that for the villians. Plus the effects on them was awesome! The cursed pirates were funnier though, I must agree with you on that one.
PD, I am glad to hear (read) that I am not alone on that one either. Honestly after I got the Dead man's chest dvd about five days later my mom walked in on me watching it again and she asked, "Isn't that enough yet?!". I drove my poor mum insane. She only has more of that to look forward to though with the release of At world's end on the horizine (no pun intended...well maybe a little. lol).
I would suggest Walmart's online site (Walmart.com). They have alot of Pirates of the Caribbean stuff. However I would not advise that site for posters (...I looked for a William Turner at world's end poster on there and they did not have it... ). (sighs) Uh as for offline I would suggest the movie stores (if you have one) in your loccal mall(s). They usaly have alot of Pirates of the Caribbean stuff. Those are the only two that I can think of to suggest that have yet to be suggested. Sorry that I could not be of more help.
Sisilcal, Thanks for posting that picture of the Davy Jones action figure. I can't get over the bucket that you two added. Way cool!
Dark Queen of Angmar, They had the Force of Will book at your grocery store?! (faints) I looked and they did not have it at my grocery store! Well, I think that the novelizations look really, really cool. In fact I plan on ordering the Force or Will (the book that you mentioned I believe) next week. I do not really care that I am too old for it. It is about my William Turner and I will buy just about anything that has to do with William Turner or Pirates of the Caribbean, trust me. I have a William Turner action figure, a Will lego action figure (that I actualy talked my little brother into giving to me to put up on display...he got the lego set for Christmas), a Pirates of the Caribbean 2007 calendar, Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's chest storybook, a magazine that features Pirates of the Caribbean, Curse of the Black Pearl collector edition dvd, Dead Man's chest special edition dvd, and have saved all kinds of pictures (inclueding a bunch of pictures of Will) that I have cut out of ceral boxes. So the Force of Will, will be the perfect addition to my collection...once I eventualy get to order it (after the holiday) and it gets here.
I think that Tia is old both in body and in spirit even if she does not look it. Why I say that is because Barbossa said that they had imprisioned her at the Brethen Court (which was suposed to be before his of Jack's lifetime if memory serves because Barbossa said that the gathering in At world's end was the largest gather for pirates in either of their lifetime). Well if it was before Barbossa or Jack were born that would make her probabley around Jack's dad's age in body. Then the sea is very old so of course her spirit would be very old as well. Just the way I took things though.

My brother and I can quote almost all of DMC... it's pretty funny.... and then when we're out in public we'll use a Jack or Barbossa or whoever quote and then we'll get some pretty strange looks. People just don't understand.
And I enjoyed reading you list out all the stuff you have... now I don't feel like a total... PotC hoarder... but it's like every single thing I see that has Will or Barbossa on it I have to get… and the Disney Store… gee, that store is a horrid place to go to if you're low on cash!
Thanks for the pointers and the help, everyone, it's very much appreciated. We have tried like every single mall in our area and then all our local retail stores too. But they all have the same posters. And I already have two with Will & Jack, one with Will, one with the group from DMC, and one with Jack, Will and Elizabeth from AWE.... but they've had some pretty neat promotional things and we've asked about them but the employees either didn't know what would happen to them or they were going up for a closed auction. And then the next day you go in they're all gone!
P.S Thanks for sharing the Davy picture with us, Sisílcal! I love it!

I'm not really into the whole fanchise thing... mostly because I find that once I get started, I get the obsessive compulsion to "collect them all!" (And that just takes up all my money!)
I know that www.allposters.com is the best place to get posters online. The pictures are extremely slow to load, though. At least on my computer.

PD, Oh yes quoting with the siblings out in public is always very fun. In fact at the family gathering earlier (a fourth of July celebration) I kept quoting the movies with my younger siblings. I get what you are saying about the strange looks as well. Earlier when my younger siblings and I were quoting, my grandmother looked at us like we were insane. She should be used to it by now though because sometimes my younger sister and I even send her emails with a bunch of Pirates of the Caribbean quotes. Yeah, I am insane and sometimes I just have too much time on my hands.
I am very glad that you enjoyed reading my list...whoa and I forgot my latest addition of the At World's end cd and the Curse of the Black Pearl notebook...etc...whoa it really is no wonder why I run around dirt poor. It's just that I see Will Turner related items and then I buy the Will Turner related items and then I am out of money. How can I pass up Pirates of the Caribbean or Will Turner related things though? I mean...it's Will Turner!
I am the exact same way. If I have money in my pocket and I see something that has Will on it...I just have to have it. Oh the Disney store...great fun! I love that place...I know here I am a working soon to be driving teenage girl and I go in the Disney store. They have Will Turner related things though!
You are very welcome. Oh my that is indeed a problem. I would suggest going online in that case. You can find most things on the internet.
Taurquende, I do understand that. I would say that I have become a bit obesssed with buying the Pirates of the Caribbean (especialy the Will related) things. It is not good for my piggy bank but I just love the stuff so much. I do not clean toilets (they call it house keeping but it is pretty much the exact same thing) for nothing you know.
Ooh, cool! I will have to check that site out later and see what all posters they have...hopefuly some of Will. Thank you so much for posting the link to it!

Well I liked both cursed crews myself. I think the skeletal crew will always hold a special place in my heart because when we see that first scene with them all, from Elizabeth's point of view I was just like.... wooooow.... we didn't really get a chance to "know" Davy's crew which was a shame. We didn't even get to see properly which fish became which human. That would have been nice to see.
I have seen the Jack Sparrow books, chronicling his teenage years... yah.... I have avoided them like the plague.
As for POTC stuff, most of our stuff came from Ebay. Apart from the cushion, glass, pendants, notebooks etc, which came from the Disney store. But my brothers t-shirts, and all our film cells came from Ebay. DVD's, books, calanders and soundtracks came from shops though.

Youre very welcome. They definitely have some Will stuff, along with Orlando.
Pirate, you scare me. I would have never figured those out! Some of those you don't even have straight shots of! Well done! *applause*

Ok seriousely you guys, if you want to buy those really bad novelizations dont, their really bad, you'd be better off buying some cheap no name brand Pirates stuff. Their terrible, and its like a bunch of four year olds got together and wrote them The more chapter book style one is ok, but the 16 paged, childrens books are terrible, I can totally understand wanting to buy everything in sight with a character on it, but these aren't worth the money.
I love Palifico and Ogilvey and Maccus! Sometimes I wonder where these guys keep their brains.... I like the new guy that Barbossa fought, the one with the Eel head, he was neat. And the two that are joined together.
PotR, have you tried striped wall for screencaps? They have a bunch of high quality ones from DMC.

Ah, well, I make all my own DMC screencaps from my DVD. The site that I use for AWE screencaps has 9785 screencaps. They're just not all the highest quality (as they're from a pirated copy ). I just meant that once I have the AWE DVD, I'll be able to pause it where I want and maybe get a few more glimpses of other faces.
Taurquende wrote: Pirate, you scare me. I would have never figured those out! Some of those you don't even have straight shots of! Well done! *applause*
Heh...it helps tremendously that I actually have pictures of all the actors (and the patience/obsessiveness to compare all the faces). Without those, I'd be quite lost. I believe that I saw Quittance in there as well, but I'm going to need a better screencap to confirm that.

JF, Oh yes the skelaton pirates will hold a special place in my heart as well. They were the start of it all in a way. There would not have been a Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's chest or At World's end had it not been for Pirates of the Caribbean Curse of the Black Pearl and the cursed pirates were a Huge part of that. I have to like them if for no other reason than that. I just think that I might like the Davy Jones crew a bit better. Well, I kind of liked that we did not get to learn too much about them. I think that it makes it easier to hate the villians sometimes if you don't know alot about them. That being said sometimes I just want to hate the villians, so I liked that we did not learn too much about them. Then again though the more I learned about Bootstrap the more I hated him. I could have dealt with learning more about the Davy Jones crew but not was allright as well. (shrugs)
Wow that is alot of stuff. Cushion? Like a pin cushion? A sofa cushion?
Pirateoftherings, Thank you so much for posting those screencaptures for us! I have no idea how on earth you could tell them apart though. I am blind as a bat though so that might be part of why I have such a hard time telling them apart. I think that you are one hundred and fifty percent right on every singal last one of those though. Thanks once again!
Taurquende, Ooh...Will stuff! (happy dance) Now I will most certainly have to check that site out sometime.
Dark Queen of Angmar, Well I think that I might like it so long as it is not animated. I just...I am obssessed with William. Awhile back someone here (...I am afraid that now I am unable to recall who it was ) posted pictures of some of the merchandise that was to be released and when I saw it I decided then and there that I just Had to have it. I have the Dead Man's Chest storybook and I Love that one. It is not sixteen pages long. However it certainly is no chapter book either. The Force of Will book is only four dollars so I am willing to give it a shot. Thanks for the input though.
