Justin Bartha

And yeah...out of all the actors in this movie, Justin Bartha and Diane Kruger are my favorites.

I agree Elenanna! Both of them are awesome! I know I'm kind of sick...but I always wanted to see a Riley/Abigail pairing.

aww, no EA! Ben and Abigail have to be together! :P and thanks, Elenanna! ;) it's actually a shame Nicolas Cage is the only one who gets much publicity for these movies since they do have a really good cast... but I suppose it's kinda like Johnny Depp with Pirates of the Caribbean.

Ben/Abi fan myself as well

And it is.. But I guess it's probably because he's a more well known actor. Justin Bartha's played more supporting roles...such as Failure to Launch. I actually have a hard time figuring out the differences in these movies.

I want to see it again......

Ooh, that's something I never thought of! Maybe it could work...maybe. :P I think Ben and Abi work too well together though - I myself am rooting for Riley/the girl who asked for his autograph, because it was cute. :D

I LOVE THIS MOVIE. :swoon: I went to see it the day it came out and it pwns! Riley's my favorite, hands down. Poor guy, I would've bought his book. :P

hehe *high fives Anie* my brother and I just saw it yesterday, Christmas Eve. It was a pretty good movie! And you're so right, Riley and the girl at the end were so sweet! Oh, I know! I felt so bad for Riley at the beginning too! he's so the best in NT! :bounce: but still this movie was great, but for me it was almost too much like the first one. I felt like I was having deja vue (sp?) at times. :erm: maybe it was just me... but it really felt like I was watching the first one at times... eh, at any rate I still plan on buying it when it comes out on dvd! :-D

My sister and I are probably going to see it next week in the cinema! :bounce: I can't wait :) I loved Riley in the first movie.

I saw this movie yesterday. It was a good movie, very entertaining. However, it could never live up to the first one--but what sequel can? :P

The plotline was decent (though it was full of holes) and it provided ample time for our heroes to run around and score their punchlines. I LOVED the inclusion of Helen Mirren in the cast, she is a wonderful actress! I'm not sure if I just liked the character of Abigail more in the first movie, but it seemed like she didn't get much screen time or character development in this movie other than her argument with Ben, which seemed rather silly to me. Though that scene they made in Buckingham palace--HILLARIOUS, very well written and performed.

And I love Riley (always have!) in this movie, but once again, I don't think they can top the first. My sister and I have suggested a possible Riley/Abigail pairing before--they do look cute together--but, come on. Ben and Abigail are pretty much meant to be. ;) And I loved Riley's fan at the end! That was great scene to squeeze in.

Overall, the movie seemed shorter than the first, though they are exactly the same length--131 min. I think it felt like more happened in the first movie...or at least that it made more sense in the first movie. I didn't really follow the overarching story here. (How did we get from Ben's great-grandfather to Cibola again?) But the little scenes here and there were what made the movie good--Ben talking with the French guards, anything with Riley in it, the Ben/Abi fight, when Ben kidnaps the president. I'm thankful that Disney did well with this sequel. :)

I see what you're saying, RA. I personally think the two movies are too much alike to really compare them and say one is that much better than the other (although I do think I actually prefer Book of Secrets to the original ;) although some of that might be a tad bit of predjudice since the PotC writers helped out a little with this one :P). But my friend and his family went to see it and one of the things they said was that it didn't have as many clues or as big of a mystery as the first one.... and basically a lot of what you just said.
I guess I like them both as a whole no matter what... and Riley was amazing like usual! lol

Well, the whole 'Greatest Treasure in the World' thing was new then, so it made more of a compelling story. When they try and discover an world-changing trasure again, it's sort of pushing it. :P I would have liked it better if the plot was a natural build off of the first discovery--say, some of it was still undiscovered, or some of it had been stolen, or some of it was fake, etc.

Plus, this movie suffered from a serious lack of Sean Bean. That totally brought it down for me. :teehee:

But I still like Book of Secrets a lot! Just not as much as the original.

I really do not believe this movie was about finding the "ultimate treasure". It was about freeing the family's name, and they had to find the treasure in order to do that. So, it was a completely different feel in that way.

The only thing I want different in the movie is the last line.

SLIGHT SPOILER:
Instead of Riley saying, "I love this car." I want him to say, "Thank you Mr. President."

the one thing i do have to say is i didn't feel like there was much of a hunt this time. in the first one they had a lot of obsitcles to get around and be sneaky and it was one clue after the next. this one just seems alittle too easy for them and it was like 3 or 4 clues and they've got it....i think there could have been more to the hunt.

LOL! Same here! I was quite dissapointed, plus the main villian wasn't quite as villanous as I could have hoped... Sean Bean was definately better.

**SPOILERS** (kinna)

it's such a great movie! i saw it the day it came out with my friends. it was great how they went to mt rushmore! that's one of the most amazing places in america i've been to! lol. but riley was awesome. he's always the greatest. i can't believe ben and abigail broke up. but at the end, they ended up getting back together, right? my fav part was when they were yelling in buckingham palace, or where ever they were. it was funny.
