I'm sure a sufficiently more talented actress could pull it off. But Kristen really doesn't add anything to the role, she just plays it as is, which is unfortunately very boring.

And definitely about the supporting characters. That was why I was so angry in Breaking Dawn when they all ran away. :annoyed2:

Considering what I've read about Breaking Dawn, I can't say as I blame them :P

I kind of agree with that...I never really liked Bella or Edward, but I found most of the supporting charries to be interesting. =] Really hoping New Moon is much better than the first movie.

I do not understand what is good about Twillight? I saw the first movie just could not get it. One thing though it is about a girl's fantasy but is there more to this movie? please tell me what is that attracted you to this movie.

I've been wondering that for a while myself.

The fact that it's 10x better than the book.

And that is saying a lot.

The Twilight movie is awesome if you watch it on Rifftrax.

New Moon - to watch or not to watch it?

I have a vague idea of the plot, I have never read the books nor watched the first movie.

To watch or not to watch?

I just saw New Moon and I think it was 1000x better than Twilight :) I loved it.

I think I'm a Jacob movie fan and an Edward book fan because Taylor Lautner is hawwwt. :D [/end fangirl moment]

I just watched New Moon illegally online for the lulz.
Oh my freaking god, the CHEEEEEESE. There was hardly a moment when I wasn't laughing. 5 stars for Bella's constant asthma attacks.

ETA: Did anyone else find it hilarious when Edward took off his shirt (his body is repulsive by the way) and his sparkly body actually made a shimmery noise?

Don't bash Stephanie Meyer. I personally commend her for taking the common girl's sexual fantasy and committing it to paper. Not only that, but marketing it to considerable success. As a writer, I tip my hat to you, Ms. Meyer, and hope you enjoy your bit of fame.

That just leaves me wondering where female empowerment went. Bella's behavior in New Moon is... disturbing? Granted, the majority of teen girls know the difference between healthy relationships and male domination, but what about the minor impressionables who don't?

It made noise, really? I totally missed that one! But I agree, his body is repulsive!

I'd like the movie better if the sound was off. Every time Bella, Edward or Jacob was on screen I swear my ears started hurting...

Hmm.. I take it, these are not recommendations... also I didn't see the first one so I might be lost anyway if I went to see it. I just don't understand why you all watch the movie if you have the slightest hunch you will want to dig your eyes out during the movie.. :)

There must be some true fans around... and they shouldn't feel they're not welcome. I mean the movie is a blockbuster after all so it means that people do watch it.

Not a true fan, but a fan-ish. I generally like the books (except for Breaking Dawn, which I like to pretend doesn't exist). And I'll definitely say that Twilight (the movie) was awful at best. However, I rather liked New Moon. The new director went a long way to fix all the mistakes that Catherine Hardwicke made, and it was actually pretty close to the book.

Of course, I may or may not be biased, because Taylor Lautner is a hella babe. Every time he took his shirt off, I was just like "thank you." The acting was mediocre, and actually, the most convincing performance was Rob Pattinson's. He's actually come a long way at not sucking. However, you think he would have gone to the gym a few times to at least make it SEEM like Bella was making a good decision picking him over Jacob. I mean, Taylor Lautner was buff, beautiful, and almost naked for most of the movie, and then Rob swoops in with his scrawnyness and chest hair and Bella's falling all over him again? Yeah, sorry guys, not buying it.

But I liked it. There was some hokeyness, but not enough to ruin the movie. Which is good.

It really did! Similar to the noise that the mithril made in LotR, sorta.

Bella's just about the dullest person ever, anyone could easily act better staring at a lamp-post. It was weird, her dullness made it really awkward for her when she actually screamed/cried and stuff. It was incredibly unnatural and forced.

Well... honestly, we're not entitled to criticize the movie unless we've watched it, and everyone would point us out on it, so the only solution was to watch it. I definitely appreciated the comedic value of the film, so it wasn't a total waste of my time.

^True, true, very valid point, all I was looking for was just some more elaborated opinions. :-)
But well, since I haven't read the books and might not ever see the movies I should be quite indifferent. :teehee:
