I saw it yesterday; I have to say, the special effects were absolutely amazing! And it's a long film, typical PJ-style, but it's got some great stuff in it. You'll enjoy it if you haven't seen it already!

I've heard about Andy Serkis playing King Kong's face, but what I didn't realise until a friend pointed it out to me was that he actually played a character in the film as well--he was brilliant! He was so funny to watch, along with Jack Black, and their parts were perefectly played.

I've only read one completely good review about KK. In one review, they said it was, "Jackson's other improvements are ludicrous...suffice it to say that King Kong has lost its divine innocense. And our response to the ape's doom, once touched by authentic tragedy, is now marked by relief that this wretchedly execessive movie is finally over."

I haven't even seen the movie yet, but ooooooo, that makes me tick.

For those who have taken the logical next step in imaging how one would use this function, yes, the date continues to advance even if the indication is disengaged. Meaning that the movement continues to track the date, even if you choose to have the display turned off. When link crossing the monthly threshold, the date indication will jump past the "Date" marker on link the bezel and the date can be quickset via a link flush button on the left case side or by using the crown.
