^^First time you watched it! *gasp* Well, I'm glad you loved it! XD
Anyway, "Gosford Park". Wow. I forgot how good this was. Such an interesting take on the "who-dunnit" story. PHENOMENAL cast. My god. Derek Jacobi, Helen Mirren, Maggie Smith ... Clive Owen AND Jeremy Northam.
Brilliant film....and Mr. Northam's singing was much welcomed. And Clive was just...perfection.

Not like anyone here has seen, or even heard of it, but...
"Harold and Maude"
"A lot of people enjoy being dead. But they are not dead, really. They're just backing away from life. Reach out. Take a chance. Get hurt even. But play as well as you can. Go team, go! Give me an "L". Give me an "I". Give me a "V". Give me an "E". L-I-V-E. LIVE! Otherwise, you've got nothing to talk about in the locker room."

i love gosford park. and one of the actors in it is from my hometown, which is quite cool.
today i watched finding neverland again. such an amazing film. i saw a stage production of peter pan when i was seven, and it was absolutely spellbinding - it's a large part of the reason that i want to get into the theatre industry - and the film really captured the magic of that experience, which was wonderful. plus, freddie highmore's performance is incredible, and there are some really interesting ideas about theatre and childhood.

I watched the new 2007 [TV] adaptation of Jane Austen's "Northanger Abbey" earlier this evening. I thought it was very good, highly entertaining!

The last movie I saw was Juno. It was good, though not quite as "amazing" as a lot of people are calling it. It didn't have the charm of a movie like Little Miss Sunshine, but I do love independent films. The stories and characters are always much more off-beat and realistic than in Hollywood movies.

So I saw Sunshine.
Meh.
It was brilliant, the characters were of the sort that latched on to your heart and won't let go, the dialogue was great, and the constant philosophy being tossed around really impressed me.
But the last bit of the movie was very anti-climatic. Too gruesome. They needed a better ending.

Miss Congeniality - Haha, Gracie reminds me of myself. Except she's a lot tougher.
The Fifth Element - OMG. I'm in love. Aliens, explosions, Ian Holm, and even some romance.

not technically a film, but the last thing i watched on dvd was rooster, a modern ballet piece danced to songs by the rolling stones. i really like the choreography (by christopher bruce) but some of the dancers aren't that great - their synchronicity is particularly appalling.

The Prestige.
I am kicking myself so hard for not seeing this movie earlier. I mean, Hugh Jackman + Christian Bale (who, by the way, was so hot he almost killed me), I should have known it was going to be amazing. And it definitely was. So. Many. Twists. But I loved it.

*is watching Van Helsing with PotR*
(both watching simultaneously, and talking about over IM... yay.)
This movie is amazing. I love Dracula (the smug face, oooh, hottness)... and Van Helsing is a great main character (the hat = love), and Carl is just AWESOME.
I'm really getting a kick out of PotR's various comical supercilious remarks about Anna too.

@tim4x: I watched that movie too! Well parts of it. TMC ROCKS!
@Starlight: HURRAY for The Prestige!!! Isn't it just BRILLIANT???!!!
Anyway, I FINALLY just saw "Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy". OH. MY. GOD. I LOVED it! I don't know, it was just superb! The cast was brilliant. I don't know how it compares to the book because I've never read it, but I still liked the movie. I want a Marvin. Now. And Martin Freeman was just wonderful as always. And Zooey Deschanel was too! And Bill Nighy! HURRAY!
