It was 1964.... and the show went nowhere! They re-worked and re-packaged it... and in 1966 it worked good enough to get 3 seasons. The original pilot made a re-appearance in the 2-part 'Menagerie' episodes with Spock, the only original character remaining, tying it all together. It was interesting that Majel Barret was 2nd in command in the original pilot, but was relegated to a mini-dressed blonde nurse in the series. Couldn't handle women in leadership back then, & I think maybe its why Janeway was Captain of Voyager.
