I saw it last night. It was ok but I didnt really like some of the lines in it.
For instance there was a line 'why is the rum always gone' people laughed but I really didnt thing it was all that amusing. It was a lame callback to one of the first movies major catchphrases.
There wern't many good catchphrases in the movie that I found entertaining.
When your younger you dont really grasp the entire concept of marriage. mean you understand what it means, but you dont really understand the vulnerability that comes with giving yourself away to another person.
To me, the moment that had the most impact on me, was the moment that will saw Elizabeth kissing jack.
I'm in a defacto relationship myself and I can completly understand what sort of pain he would be going through if you see your loved one kissing another.
The did attepmt to flesh out a few of the secondry characters, they did make the movie a little better to watch.
On a whole, it doesnt live up to the first, there is too much of the first movie in there, it doesnt have enough of its own substance.
I did enjoy watching it, but its not a movie that Im going to be running to the store to get when it comes out on dvd.
(I also remember now why I liked orlando bloom so much..those eyes... )

You know, the look on Will's face was heartbreaking. I'll admit that much. However, the moment Jack and Elizabeth kissed....well, honestly, the sexual tension between those two...it needed to happen. In my opinion. Why and what she did to him AFTER that...well, that was even worse than the look on Will's face. Ha ha ha. *cough*
Yes...Orlando's eyes...*sigh* But I never realized what a gorgeous back he has.

I though they did a good job of removing the scar down orlando's back, It looked seemless.
I think my least liked chracter out of POTC is elizabeth, she did have a few good lines in the movie, plus a few good expressions.
I think my favourite moments were those with the *cough* big wheal thingie *leaves statement very vauge* Just the expressions on some ofthe chracters faces ^_^
When she kissed jack i was thinking 'no you stupid girl! bad bad girl, you have a guy going to the ends of the earth for you and you kiss the guy who hasnt ever brushed his teath or even showered?"

Ugh I want to see the movie sooo badly but I have to wait.
I'm loving the soundtrack though. My favourite song is "The Kraken" and "Jack Sparrow" is pretty good as well.

You know, I don't think Elizabeth had as many good lines as I recall her having in the first. *sigh* Oh well...I thought there were many great lines...mainly coming from Jack.
I agree with you about that *cough* water wheel *cough* scene. Well, most of all of them fighting. That whole thing was hysterical. Not to mention the cinematography was stunning throughout that whole sequence. Which reminds me, I honestly think the filmmakers, meaning the director and the director of photography and such, made it into much more than a comedy/action blockbuster film of the movie. Just with some of the scenes they shot. Like the opening one with the teacups and the rain? Anyways....that's just me rambling about my weird obsession with stuff like that. Ha ha ha...
And I guess you (Jo) and I are going to have to agree to disagree on the whole Jack/Elizabeth kissing scene. Ha ha ha. But I'll say this about the hygene comment, I highly doubt by that point Will had brushed his teeth or bathed. Ha ha ha. And if you consider the historical times...most people didn't. But I'm just going off on random tangents now.....
EDIT: Ericadawn, by the way, I LOVE your Norrington banner. It's SO awesome. It reminded me that I should mention his return. I was SO happy that he did...because I love him so much!! Especially his entrance. Ha ha ha.
Oh, and that reminds me of Jack's entrance. I LOVED it! Though, I think the music was a little overrated at that part...but maybe it was deliberate....just like in the first one. Ha ha ha. And then that reminds me of another thing. I think the score to this film was just as phenomonal as the first. I thought it was AWESOME!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I don't like Elizabeth that much any more. But I agree with you guys on Orlando Bloom. Yesh, he does have a gorgeous back.
I loved the part where Jack gave what's her face the monkey and shoots it and says, "Look. An undead monkey."
Oh, and the part where Norrington and Will kept falling down after getting out of the wheel thingy.

*sob* I have yet to see it...hopefully I'll go to the theater Sunday, but I'm not sure It sounds awesome from what you guys are saying, though! Like the first movie, it seems to have gotten pretty panned by the critics
And I agree, the soundtrack is awesome! I just got it yesterday

This movie was AMAZING. Way better then the first.
It's so sad! I've grown a newfound hate in Elizabeth..How could she?! The ending..Wow. Surprising! I can't wait for the third..Man. I want to see it again!

SPOILERS
Am I the only that thought that Davy Jones was cool? I'm in love with his beard and i feel so sorry for him, he has the prettiest blue eyes ever. I also really like Bootstrap, he was so cool. I liked the starfish on the side of his face, very very neat. Stellan Skarsgård did an amazing job of playing him.
Norrington looks much better all ragged and pirate like ect. The music for the movie is just as good if not better than the first. The Kraken was very well done and i loved Will's and Norrington's action after they got out of the *cough*wheel*cough*
The beginning with i think it was the Turkish prison was an interesting scene, i thought it was cool when the raven stole the one guys eye(how morbid of me). And Jack shooting the woodpecker-raven was hilarious.
The paprika with the cannibals was awesome, so were the giant balls.
