^Well, Russel has done some children's films, so I'm guessing he can keep himself censored long enough to film it...? I'm not exactly familiar with everything he's done though, but I do know he's a comedian... isn't every comedian raunchy and innappropriate at times? But I suppose I can see how you wouldn't want it crossing into a movie.
I haven't seen a single film of Penelope Cruz's, and I'm not blaming her, I'm blaming the writers (Ted & Terry) because aside from Tia Dalma, they totally butcher their female characters *coughcoughELIZABETHSWANNcoughcoughcough* So I really hope she's something like Anamaria was in the first movie, because I personally thought she was awesome. What makeup advert is this, Lembas?
Well, IMDB still has only Johnny, Penelope and Ian listed as actually appearing, and Geoffrey Rush is still under "rumored", but I think we already know for sure that he's going to be in it. And I also read that this is supposed to be the start of another trilogy, or so the producers hope... and that it's supposed to be sort of a stand alone from the first three movies. So I don't really know if any of that's true, it's just what I've seen on teh internetz.
So to answer your question, Lembas, there is no confirmation or denial on Pintel or Ragetti yet, at leastways on the internet. But my guess is that they will definitely be in this one, since they bring a lot of humor to the films in their own way.

heheh I think it was a Loreal advert- Mascara maybe, from last year... or 2 years ago but I can't actually think of anything I've seen with her in.
Argh I seriously hope that this isn't going to be the start of a second trilogy, I think Disney are really pushing it making a 4th movie, Even if it is a sort of spinoff rather than a continuation of the story I can understand if they make OST all about Jack, maybe with some backstory but a nnoooooo not a Trilogy.
Shame they haven't been confirmed yet, but I think they will probably be in it, after all I alays though that they bought back Murtogg and Mullroy for PotC 3 after they didn't make an appearance in 2 and everyone missed them

Spoilerish? Mostly news, but well, gotta put that warning on just incase.
So the newest... news, that I've heard, is Sam Claflin (I think he's a newer actor) is going to be playing a vital role in this movie; and there's also going to be a mermaid named Syrena. Mick Jagger has also been rumored to star; it seems like we've got a motley crew when it comes to this movie's cast. The news article I read said that Jagger would star along with Keith Richards - IF he stars in it at all, that is.
I think the coolest thing about this is that it's gonna be in 3-D... I thought PotC looked epic before, but this sorta brings you into the movies even more than before.
Quote: director Marshall and Producer Jerry Bruckheimer plucked Claflin to star as a youthful missionary going by the name of Philip and looks certain to be an Orlando Bloom substitute. Quote: Also a recent addition to the cast is French actress Astrid Bergès-Frisbey who is set to play a mermaid in the film, potentially cavorting around the fountain of youth (if that’s still on the cards for the fourth film) and this will be her first English-speaking role.

Urgh. I hope 3-D will be dead by then.
It is totally useless and they'd better keep showing this 3-D films in 2-D for the people who don't like it.

They most likely will, Goatcloset, just as they did with Alice in Wonderland, because I'm sure people do get sick of it and it may affect some people's eyes and whatnot... It does make my eyes get a little funny too, but Alice in Wonderland was fine for me; at one point I actually forgot I had the 3-D glasses on.

I hope so. I hate having to wear the glasses over my own, and having to hold them in place all the time. Really uncomfortable, and not really worth all the hassle.

Oh yeah, I definitely know what you mean; it's hard to make them sit on your nose when you're already wearing glasses underneath (big problem for me) but it's not as painful to me... I don't know, maybe I just get used to it, or get so engrossed in the movie that I don't even notice it anymore.
One year and 18 days seems so far away... I know it'll go fast though and I'm going to wear my pirate costume with pride and not care what anyone thinks.

Well... unless the plan to set the movie a DECADE into the future... Will is, by all definitions, undead and bound to the sea. So he can't come back anyway, even if he wanted to. He's got more pressing business to attend to. Logically, I'm looking forward to seeing how they handle new characters, instead of recycling the old.

Hm, well we don't really know if it's going to be a decade; I don't think it is because that scene after the credits was just used as a sort of closure to things... the real ending was before the credits, when Jack pointed the compass towards the Fountain of Youth; which was directly after the ship battle with EITC/Beckett. Just my thoughts.
I just hope they don't screw up the new characters too badly... Blackbeard is going to be epic, I just know it.. though I hope they don't draw off of Davy Jones' character for Blackbeard's because I don't want the same sort of villain.

I don't think that they're gonna set it a decade in the future, it doesn't make much sense, I agree that Jack was probably the proper ending to AWE, an the 10 years later bit was more of an epilogue to the Will/Elizabeth story arc.
I hope the new characters are good, but I think I'm still worried that to Me PotC is not PotC without Will, Elizabeth, Norrington and various other important characters who aren't returning. It seems to me that with Jack, Barbossa and probably Gibbs being the main returning characters, OST is going to seem more of a spin-off of the trilogy. I'm sure I will enjoy it when it comes out, but I can't ignore the little voice in my head that says they should have just let the PotC franchise rest after AWE :/
Also going back to the Pintel & Ragetti thing a few posts back, it looks unlikely that they'll be back, according to wikipedia the most "reliable" source in the world Mackenzie Crook has said he doesn't want to do another Pirates film, and wants to let Ragetti rest. If thats the case I think it would be really stupid to bring back Pintel by himself, having half of a double act seems kind of silly

Lembas dear, you just about stole all of the words right out of my mouth. I'm definitely going to miss Norrington and Beckett the most; I can only hope their epicness is matched by newer characters... But I don't know if we should say that it's going to suck because the old charries aren't there anymore... I think we're probably going to fall in love with the new characters (just like with Tia Dalma, Davy Jones, etc.) Personally I'm probably going to enjoy Blackbeard the most <3
I know, when I read that Mackenzie Crook wasn't interested anymore, I was floored... honestly, he and Lee made the movies much more comical... I mean, I guess it gets tiring, but still, why wouldn't you want to keep doing it for the fans? A lot of people are going to miss them if that's the case..
Double excited to see OST now because Pandora & Lothy are coming to my place and we're all meeting each other for the very first time next May! It's going to be the best fun ever xxx

Haha I'm sooo psychic XD I completely forgot Beckett and his smug, uptight english-ness, I loved him, even though it seems like Tom Hollander is in everything- Beckett will be missed. I definitely don't think its going to suck, its just I think its not going to seem quite like PotC, but something slightly different, but to the same PotC kinda tune... does that even make sense? I hope Blackbeard rocks as a character too, He's got Barbossa and Davy Jones to follow, so I think he'll be pretty awesome.
It is a shame about Mackenzie D: P&R were probably my favourite of the actual pirates (after Barbossa.. and Will is sorta not, but sorta is a pirate... so he doesn't count and he's my fave anyway.... >>). I know fans will be disappointed, but sometimes actors do decide its time to retire a character, and I guess that's what he decided to do. I also remember reading that the producers or writers were initially really sceptical about a jack-centric film, so maybe Mackenzie still has those reservations. Or he could be busy with something else :/
Omg that sounds amazing xD that will be so swash-buckling-ly cool I'm going to try and actually see OST in the cinema >.> out of the original trilogy I only went to see DMC, I was completely unaware of CotBP and when AWE came out I was on holiday for a few week and when I got back everyone had already been to see it D: so I'm really DETERMINED to catch this one

Really? I haven't noticed him in much since PotC aside from "John Adams" and I had to Youtube that... maybe it's because you're british, he's british, and so on. He needs to do more American films - or maybe he has but I just don't know of them.. Yes yes, you make perfect sense - I think it'll be weird not to see Will or Elizabeth around, but something of a relief since well, they did get tiring after a while and new characters should spice things up, unless T&T completely butcher their personalities. Honestly my faith in them has declined ever since AWE. And yes, they need to pull out something unique for Blackbeard, because ruthless villain has been done so many times in PotC. I just don't want this to be insanely repetitive and not have any originality to it.
Yeah, I agree that P&R made amazing background characters; I especially love when Jack and Barby were arguing over who was captain in AWE and Pintel just starts yelling at them and they look at him like "" And in DMC when Ragetti was balancing the shovel and goes, "Look, I could join the circus!" Disney is making a big mistake if they don't bring them back...
Quote: Crook, who played comedy pirate Ragetti in the first three films, has confessed he won't be starring in the fourth installment either. He tells Britain's The Independent newspaper, "They haven't asked me. But actually I don't mind that at all. I'm a fan of the first one especially and I think the trilogy we've made is great. I'd almost like them to leave it there."
"If people want more, then, sure, give them more if you can keep the standard. Quite possibly they do and quite possibly they can, so that's great. But my pirating days are over."
Johnny Depp has signed on to resurrect his eccentric high seas character Captain Jack Sparrow for a reported pay cheque of $33.6 million.
It's just sad to hear that he's finished with it... yeah, it was bad when Keira and Orlando left, but the whole cast has essentially disbanded.. although I suppose after 7 years, it's difficult to want to keep yourself tied to something (no matter how epic it may be) because you'd rather go out and look for other work? Still, I'm sure a lot of people are going to be majorly disappointed... I for one, am.
Haha just make sure you're not doing anything that weekend or the next, and go see it! Opening night will be chaos but Lothy and Panneth and I shall cut down anyone in our path. I have seen every one in the theatre or at the Drive-In... for DMC I saw it both places, and AWE I watched twice at the theatre. And when we went to see CotBP for the first time, I fell asleep right after Jack saves Elizabeth from drowning and then woke up during the credits.
May 20th, 2011 - why can't you get here faster?!

Tehehe its probably because he's British, he always plays the same sorta character so he's really easy to spot Errrm he has done some American-ish stuff fairly recently, He was in Kiera Knightly's Pride and Prejudice as Mr Collins, and he was in Valkyrie... along with about half of the rest of the Male cast of PotC (Seriously, there's Tom, Bill Nighy, Kevin McNally and what's his face who plays Mercer.. its kinda funny seeing all these Pirates dressed up in Fancy Military uniforms). He seems to pop up in the Papers a bit talking about plays tv dramas and stuff too, I think us brits just have a weakness for oxbridge educated, Theatre Background, well spoken English men, if its not Tom its Kenneth Brannagh, and if its not him then its Patrick Stewart or Ian Mckellen lol xD. It will be weird without Will or Elizabeth, Will always seemed like the main character to me, which is probably why again its not gonna seem like the other three, cause its almost like they're making a film about the co-lead and not the lead. Yeah they new characters had better not be stupid- I don't know why, but I keep on picturing Blackbeard's Daughter as being like Catherine Zeta Jones' Character in the Zorro films xD I think its the spainishness .
tis official D: ah well Disney are missing out, I hope that P&R are mentioned or Disney hint at what they're up to in OST, so we can picture them doing something hilarious . I can kinda understand about Orli not wanting to come back, Will's story was pretty much over and there's no point in resurrecting him, and having Elizabeth by herself would just really really annoying- the press were stupid to say that he's not coming back because Orli is trying to get Miranda to marry him... yeah right. I'm sure it is difficult to keep a 7 year long commitment, but then Orlando still feels he has ties to the LotR trilogy (and hobbit, cause he and the rest of the cast all wanna come back, even if it makes no sense) and that started filming about 11 years ago now, It always seemed to me that PotC didn't have that sense of Cast-community that there is in films like LotR and maybe that's also part of the reason why people like Mackenzie, Keira and Orli aren't coming back too.
Haha I'm so gonna make sure I get there!! Even if I'm snowed under in exams like this year D:
