My top 5 (as of now) would be:
  1. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
  2. The Pirates of the Caribbean I+II
  3. X-Men Trilogy
  4. The Goonies
  5. The Butterfly Effect
Yup, that would be it :D

in no particular order (cuz i'm just not that decisive):

- rope (hitchcock's finest, if you ask me)

- citizen kane (an absolute masterpiece - orson welles was a genius)

- monty python and the holy grail (sheer hilarity as only we british know how)

- phantom of the opera (sexy men with amazing singing voices - what more could you want?!)

- billy elliot (cuz i understand what dance means to billy and this is british filmmaking at its best)

and now i wait for hate mail for not choosing lotr. i'm afraid the films just don't come up to scratch next to the books.

4. Kingdom of Heaven
5. Gladiator

1~ LotR. Forever.
2~ Pirates of the Caribbean (1 more than 2, but I liked 2 as well)
3~ Phantom of the Opera
4~ Spiderman II
5~ Hmmm... there are a lot that tie here... but some of my other favorites would be Earthsea, which was actually a mini series on SciFi, as well as Hornblower, a mini series on A&E.
