Himlen Är Oskyldigt Blå (Behind Blue Skies). I loved it. It really felt like 1975 when watching it. And since I spent all my childhood summers in Sandhamn (out in the archipelago) where the film was shot and set, there was plenty of nostalgia there. Gotta love that the opening sequence had full frontal female and male nudity (with an erection in close-up) and yet the film was rated 11 in Sweden. Haha!

SUCH an underrated film, that is! I thought it was wonderful and the music (songs as well as score) is EPIC!

THIS. YES. (YAY! for fellow El Dorado fans )

"The Philadelphia Story"

I adore Cary Grant in this. To a point of ridiculousness. Such cute sweetness. Awwwww!

"127 Hours"

I knew it was going to be good. I knew it was going to be fantastic. And yet I'm still blown away by how good it was. James Franco was simply superb. :notworthy:

And I've never really experience such a cathartic moment as happens in this movie. The end, when he finally gets free. I don't know, it was just such a liberating feeling for me as a viewer. Very ... WOW.

Of course I couldn't bring myself to watch the ... errrr ... that scene. I'm actually secretly glad I didn't see this in theatres because I know my reaction would've been a little embarassing to say the least. ;) At least at home I could mute it.

Black Death

Featuring... SEAN BEAN=D
It was awesome!
I also liked it because a few Dutch actors played in it:D

127 Hours was good. I especially loved the soundtrack by A.R. Rahman. Intense.

James Franco was excellent. I watched it in class (my teacher had a copy of the film because his wife is part of the Academy). I did not find the amputation scene as gruesome as I had been hearing - I felt there was purposely less shown so the viewer can mentally fill in the holes (which is probably why there were such strong reactions: people's imaginations going on overdrive) - though the act itself was definitely hardcore.

I really enjoyed the film. :) And Ralston himself seems to be a well-rounded guy, so his story is even more amazing and inspiring.

The Nutty Professor (1967)

Never thought I would say this, but I think I've fallen in love with Jerry Lewis. :swoon: He is so gorgeous as Buddy Love, with the sharp suit and the slicked back hair and that voice and accent... :-o ... I've been re-watching bits on youtube all week, it's crazy. I loved him as well as Julius Kelp, so sweet and unassuming. :P It's been like 18 years since I've seen this if not more, but it won't be so long next time. :teehee:

Monsters vs. Aliens

BOB!!!!! Bob was the only thing that really left an impression on me when I saw this in the cinema, but watching it again, this is such a great little film. The characters are really funny - love all the alien/sci-fi parodies and of course, BOB. :P

The Taming of the Shew

Anyone who knows me, knows I hate Shakespeare. And I hate people who get snobbish with people who hate Shakespeare but this was BLOODY BRILLIANT. It helped of course that it was a comedy, it had Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton (who if he was alive today, would OWN Smaug) and I could actually understand the plot without needing a PhD in ol' William. :P Thought the speech at the end about women obeying their lords was funny, but nothing to start picketing about. :P Other than that, very much enjoyable. :-)

Fast Five

Legitimately the only good movie in the series. I love the European cars they got for this one. It added some realism, and some class, and style, and good looks to the endless sea of ricers and American cars... Mmm.... CCXR. You are beautiful.

@Nicole: Yeah, it wasn't as gruesome as it could have been - but I have an overactive imagination as it is. ;) Sooooo, just thinking about it freaks me out a little. It was a very inspired story, just incredible.

"The Devil Wears Prada"

It was pretty good. Stanley Tucci is so my hero. :P I dunno, it was a little predictable. And WHY is it that any story like this, with a professional woman try to get a better job and all that is made out to be seen as an evil, horrid *beep* ice queen? But if it were a guy, it'd be all ... heroic and all that crap. ARGH. [/minifeministrant]

Also. If it had been Betty Suarez, she would've pwned ol' what's her face in about 5 minutes with her poncho bad assery.

"Howl"

Very interesting and great movie. I was confused a lot of the time, but only because poetry is soooooo not my thing. It was very creative and original. I know who Allen Ginsberg was, but not really any of this stuff, so that was fascinating. And the trial of "Howl" was really moving. And the fact that they used only the words that people actually said throughout the entire film was just inspired.

I recommend this for anyone. It's one of those films that kind of just lingers and makes you think about it. :)

Hey missy! If you be ditching The Devil Wears Prada - best chick flick movie of its genre - I can't talk to you anymore!! End of! Although, I do admit you're right about the feminist perspective.. and I'll admit that Anne Hathaway can be a tiny bit over-exposed now (and the Oscar show didn't do anything good for her on that account :P) but she wasn't so much back then...

Umm excuse me.. what were we talking about? Oh, my most recently watched movie.. right... I think it must have been Kingdom of Heaven.. what? I already mentioned that? Umm.. I don't think I've watched movies since then...

Thor!

An enjoyable film, with some twists that I didn't expect, and some nice send-ups for the Avengers movie.

Plus, both Thor and Loki were well-played and good-looking. What more could a fangirl want? (Though, admitedly, I am doing my usual and thoroughly siding with the villain, as ever. Loki for the win!)
