I got obsessed with PotC... I think three years ago this month. It's kind of funny, I'd always thought that all the PotC die-hards had been fans from day one, but apparently not! I'm an oldie in the PotC fandom world! :-P

198 days until DMC!

Hehe...I've been obsessed since I saw it in theaters, which was about two weeks after it came out. So I'm definitely an oldie. :teehee:

Wow, you really are. But of course, considering that my mom has this thing against violent movies, it's amazing that she even let me see COTBP when I was 13. The day after thanksgiving.

I got to see it when it was in our town's cheap theater in November. I remember my older sister went to it first, to see if it was OK (she was 17 at the time). She came back, ran up to me and said "Oh my goodness, I think I've got a new favorite actor: Johnny Depp!" and I, who had no idea who he was at that point, was like "OK... whatever."

But yeah, I'm glad I've been able to see both PotC movies in theaters. :)

Well, I just became PotC obsessed recently. At the very first of July, I think. See one of my family members had just passed away on the 4th and everybody at my house was very ill to say the Least. We had had big plans for the 4th (for the first time in 5 years) but due to that we didn't get to go and that certainly didn't help anybody's mood. We spent the 4th down at my uncle's and the rest at my grandmother's and the week after the 4th we knew we had to go spend part of at my uncle's. So that Friday my dad surprised the rest of my family and told us to pack a bag/backpack full of enough stuff to last us a couple of days, take Sage (our house dog) to the bathroom, then to put Sage in her bed, and jump in the car. Anyway on that trip was when we went to see PotC DMC. We tryed to go on opening day but all five screens at all five showings were sold out. So we had to get tickets for the next day.
That's when I became totally obsessed with PotC. It started out as a way to take my mind off of the bad stuff that had happened. However now I'm obsessed with it just for pure enjoyment rather than just something to lean on. Plus Orli has a bit to do with my obsession with PotC as well. ;) (giggle) Sorry if I got off topic.

Hey, what do you Think will happen in PotC AWE? Just wondering.

p.s 196 more days until PotC AWE! :-D

Hey, does anyone else think it'll be interesting seeing Barbossa and Will interact? I mean, Will's father was on Barbossa's crew, and last time they met up they were on opposing sides and Barbossa effectively tried to kill Will to de-activate the curse, so I'm wondering...bad feelings on either side?

Eh...I think there are plenty of hard feelings on both sides (after all, Will's the whole reason that Jack was able to kill Barbossa). However, I also think that while there'll be a bit of tension, both men are goal-oriented enough to be able to put aside their differences and work towards a common goal (sometimes). I'd say there'll probably be more Jack/Barbossa tension than Will/Barbossa, though the same concept applies. All in all, I'd say that nobody trusts anybody in this movie, and all alliances are only tentative (save for Will/Elizabeth, which I have straight from the writers' mouths).
But there are some interesting moment involved with Jack and Barbossa.

So Will and Elizabeth will stand by each other, then? That's good to know, even though I bet Will is feeling pretty betrayed. I would. I hope Elizabeth explains to him what happened at some point, preferably early on. Sigh...196 days is far too long...

Well, there's obviously a good deal of tension between them as well at the moment, and they do have their disagreements, but they're essentially the only real duo in the movie. Everyone else is more or less out for him/herself.

It really bother me when couples can't resolve their conflicts. They go from happily in love to mad and out of love. Which is why this W/E thing is really bothering me.
