^ Aww  I can see how it would get old pretty quick.

Edit: Ahhhh they're doing repeats of the judges' favorite dances!

Nigel: Katee and Josh's Bollywood
Mary: Courtney and Gev's Rumba (I think that's the one where she wore the skimpy dress)
Adam: Twitch and Comfort's Hip Hop (danced to 'Forever' by Chris Brown... the funky club dance)
Lil C: Mark and Chelsie's Hip Hop (danced to 'Bleeding Love', choreographed by Tabitha and Napoleon)
Mia: Katee and Will's Pas de Deux
Debbie: Twitch and Kherington's Viennese Waltz (the one for Jean-Marc's daughter)

Adam take 2: Courtney and Mark's Jazz (the wacko one)
Mary take 2: Twitch and Katee's Contemporary (with the door)
Nigel take 2: Josh and Katee's Hip Hop (danced to 'No Air' by Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown, choreographed by Tabitha and Napoleon)

Holy crap. Mary dancing?
And Nigel dancing/tapping along with Debbie Allen's dancers?

Edit: Holy crap, what the *beep* is with the rabbit dance?

^Haha, yeah, you could say that.

Oh good, I'm glad they're doing Bleeding Love. That was my favorite routine of the season. Which is funny, because I didn't really like either of the dancers.

Alas, I have to wait an hour and a half for the finale. Phh.

Courtney's the first one out...

Now Katee's gone. :(

Edit: Josh won! :)

I totally was not expecting that, actually. Like, at all. I would have said Katee or Twitch, definitely. I NEVER would have thought Josh, in a million years. But good for him, man.

^ I was hoping it would be Josh or Katee, and once she was cut, I was hoping for Josh.

*is very happy*

I loved both Josh and Twitch, so I was happy when it was down to the two of them.

By the way, I kind of did a fangirl squee when Neal reappeared. Did you notice that every time he came up, the girls went wild? It was hilarious.

And was it just me, or did Mary look really really awkward dancing?

And finally, the Debbie Allen tap number. It was awesome. Haha, but I could have done without Nigel in it. I was surprised though, he's really not bad. He's just too old to pull off some of the moves (like the over-the-tops). :D

^ OMG when Mary started dancing, I was like, umm... you can tell she's not on top of the game anymore.

Oh, and when Cat was like, 'Where did Mary go?' and Nigel is like, 'I don't know, but it's the quietest she's been all season!'

I, too, could've done without Nigel, but he was pretty good. Just way too cheesy.

Either I didn't pay real close attention in seasons 2 or 3, or this year's dancers really caught my attention... I see these dancers from seasons past come and I don't really recognize/remember half of them...

I thought the same thing. She looked like a cougar who had just started taking dancing lessons. Poor Dmitry.

And Nigel is ALWAYS cheesy. He's way to over the top about stuff, and it normally doesn't bother me, except that he ALWAYS tells dancers that they're "not believable," and "too competition." Hello Nigel. Have you looked in the mirror...ever?

And I was a bleeding fangirl over seasons 2 and 3, and even though I watched season 1, I didn't recognize any of those dancers at all. I didn't even remember that it was Blake who won. But I was really glad that they did that "best of SYTYCD." It was awesome to see those people come back.

Sort of behind since I was out of town and missed the finale, but I've just caught myself up. Meh. Josh won. Lar is not happeh. :(

Ahhhh :D A new season has arrived. Tonight was the first performing round, and I was very impressed on the whole. My impressions:

Jeanine and Phillip
Hip Hop, choreographed by Tabitha and Napoleon
*Loved this. It was in the same style as Katee and Josh's "No Air" and Chelsie and Mark's "Bleeding Love" last season. They worked very well together, and there was none of the hesitation/uncertainty in their dancing that is so prevalent among the dancers early in the season.
* I thought it was awesome that T&N worked Phillip's style into the dance towards the end. Very nice.
* They were both great, but I could hardly take my eyes off of him.

Asuka and Vitolio
Broadway, choreographed by Tyce DiOrio
*Wasn't blown away. Watching the recap at the end, it was better than I had previously thought, but still... wasn't all that powerful to me. Entertaining, I guess, but not really anything special.
*I liked him more than her

Karla and Jonathan
Cha-Cha, choreographed by Tony Meredith
*There was great personality, but the dance... wasn't great.
*I think he's better, even though the judges were praising her more.

Randi and Evan
Jazz, choreographed by Tyce DiOrio
* Really liked their dance. They didn't have that hesitation either, and worked well together. Dance was very good and enjoyable.

Paris and Tony
Hip Hop, choreographed by Tabitha and Napoleon
* I rather liked it, though the judges weren't crazy about it. It was pretty cool.
* I think I liked the dance better than the people that danced it, though they make a nice couple.

Caitlin and Jason
Bollywood, choreographed by... the same dude that did last year's Bollywood
* They did a great job. I was comparing it to Josh and Katee's version last year, and while I still prefer their version, Caitlin and Jason did a very good job. Very entertaining.
* She kind of lost her oomph in the middle, but picked it back up to finish the dance.
* They both did great, but my eyes did go to her more.

Janette and Brandon
Foxtrot, choreographed by Louis van Amstel (score to me for realizing he's Dutch! His last name gives it away)
*Ok, so in SYTYCD, the Foxtrot is one of the "kiss of death" dances, because it doesn't get many votes (same with Disco, Quick Step, and a couple of others). They did a nice job, but Foxtrot always feels kinda... blah to me.
* Nice personality, lines, very graceful

Ashley and Kupono
Jazz, choreographed by Wade Robson
* Very interesting, very different. I was intrigued by it. They actually reminded me more of Storm Troopers than crash test dummies, but oh well.
* They both did a good job, nice couple

Melissa and Ade
Contemporary, choreographed by Mandy Moore
* Really pretty, and her being a ballerina lends a wonderful grace and beauty to the dance
* Nice couple, enjoyable, they did a good job

Kayla and Max
Samba, choreographed by Louis van Amstel
* Loved it. Very sexy, entertaining, fun to watch.
* There were a few parts that kind of lacked firepower, but on the whole it was very good!

So, my ranking of the dances:

1. Jeanine and Phillip's Hip Hop
2. Kayla and Max's Samba
3. Caitlin and Jason's Bollywood
4. Randi and Evan's Jazz
5. Paris and Tony's Hip Hop
6. Ashley and Kupono's Jazz
7. Melissa and Ade's Contemporary
8. Karla and Jonathan's Cha-Cha
9. Janette and Brandon's Foxtrot
10. Asuka and Vitolio's Broadway

As for the individual dancers, my favorites (in no specific order):

Phillip, Kayla, Max, Randi, Evan, Jason, Jeanine, Caitlin, Kupono, Ashley, Melissa

I sorta like Paris, Tony, Ade, Karla, Jonathan, Janette, Vitolio, and Brandon.

I'm not really caring for Asuka. Don't ask why, because I don't think I can explain it. I guess I've gotta have a grudge against someone?

So, I'm hoping (though not sure if) Asuka will go home. As for the guys... not sure. It will depend on the solo dancing. But I think the bottom three couples will be:

Asuka and Vitolio
Janette and Brandon
Either Paris and Tony or Karla and Jonathan

I still have no idea who's who on the show (it should take a few more weeks for me to get all of the names down), but I was very impressed with Kayla and Max's Samba. It reminded me of something straight off of Dancing With the Stars...only there weren't any professionals dancing. Amazing.

I really liked Paris and Tony's Hip Hop, but since I missed the first half of the show I couldn't compare it to the other hip hop dance. Evan has got to be one of my favorite male dancers, simply because he's such a nice guy and is so versatile in his dancing. I was thrilled to see him get through because he's a very captivating dancer.

And...I really don't like Brandon. Something about those underwear type spandex shorts is just...ewwwww. I can't even concentrate on his dancing because all I can think of it, "Isn't he that creepy guy who barely had any clothes on?" I don't even know. :confused2:

So Paris and Tony got sent home, which kind of disappoints me. Although, I think I liked their dance more than them. Tony going doesn't bother me as much as Paris' departure. But oh well.

Asuka might be this season's Comfort in my mind. I couldn't stand Comfort, and I might get even more hostile toward Asuka as the season goes on. Maybe she'll go next week?

Ok, scratch what I said about Evan being my favorite. I just totally fell for Philip. :swoon: Oh my goodness! I'm just in awe over here. I saw his dance with Jeanine on youtube, since I missed it on Wednesday, and it was crazy!

I thought Tony was adorable, but I didn't get a huge sense of any amazing talent, you know? His solo was horrible. In face, none of the solos I saw impressed me at all, except for maybe Jonathon's.

I DVR'd the results show, but about halfway through it, the news cut in because there was severe weather with hail and tornadoes in our area. So I didn't see the solos or the end. I had to find out on imdb.

Yes, Phillip is awesome. I'm looking forward to more of him. I think he'll go far. I think it's great when the non-classically trained dancers (or the ones whose specialty is... not the norm) do well with the different genres of dance.

So, Philip was horrible doing the tango. I felt so bad for him because he was trying so hard, but it really didn't work. But...I still voted for him anyways because I believe he deserves a chance to get better. :) I was very surprised not to see him in the bottom three last night! I guess America thought the same thing I did. Plus, it's hard not to love him.

And Max left??? Wow. I personally thought he was amazing, even though his only style was ballroom. He and Kayla worked so well together, and I'm wondering how she'll do with Kupono.
