Alright, so this definitely got in the top ranking on my favorite animated films. Probably number 3 [Monsters Inc, and Robots being first.]

I'm surprised we don't already have a topic on it, as it was played in by two of our beloved Lord of the Rings actors.

Sir Ian McKellen
and Any Serkis

Both of whom did a brilliant job! It was a bit freaky to see McKellen play a pompous, slightly insane, toad with a HUGE mouth. But he surprisingly pulled it off really well. And then his villain counter part, Le Frog, was hilarious! Andy Serkis did a great job as well, as a "overenthusiastic loser."

One of my favorite bits about it was all the cultural humor. The different British accents [posh, chav, cockney], then jokes about the French, and then the hilarious American tourists that pop up every now and then.

The slugs were also so cute and random! I love how they just appeared at random moments, doing the randomest of things!! [Don't worry, be happy... LOL!]

So... surely I'm not the only one obsessing over this little cartoon?

No, you're not. I LOVE IT!

And thats not just because it was made by the creators of Wallace and Gromit who I have been following for 10 years either. :teehee:

The singing slugs are hilarious... poor, poor Roddy, flushed down his own potty... Rita can't you find it in your heart to help him?... ..what's that urge from deep inside... the need to hurl can't be denied, tha isn't rice that's maggots you're eating.... larva, larva, larva...

And actually hearing Hugh Jackman sing was a real treat. :D

Everyone was so good in it. Ian McKellen was great and Jean Reno as Le Frog .... we start at once... "but what about dinnner?" ... we start in 5 hours...

The only character I didn't like was Sid. I know the [s]crap[/s] actor who played him, and I don't think he did a very good job. That's the only problem with the film.

It was pretty good as far as kids movies go, but I miss the old disney animated classics. :P ;)

I agree, Hugh Jackman did a great job! As well as Kate Winslet. :D And of course our beloved Andy and Sir Ian. ;)

I loved the french ninja frogs, though.
"To action!" "We surrender!"
(No offense to the french though, you guys are great! ;))

Well it wasn't trying to be a Disney film. In fact it wasn't even Disney. :teehee:

All the cast did a really great job. Did anyone notice Davy Jones' Bill Nighy was also in it as Whitey?

And what about the mime frog? All the frogs were soo funny.

^ True, and it was a lot more original than pretty much all the disney movies. :eyeroll: :P

No, I didn't catch that! How awesome! :bounce:

Oh, yes! The mime frog was great! Especially when they had him act with the Toad on a cell phone. :D

That's very true. It was an original story.

Yeah, you wouldn't have known it was him really. It did have a really good cast.

LOL! And the toad was getting annoyed with him for turning the wrong way.

It was just a good, fun, entertaining film. :D

Yay! so I'm not the only person on here who actually watches [and loves!] cartoons!

Rofl, yes the frogs were great! I haven't quoted a movie so much since pirates came out. :P
[i]You will pay for that, my little chocolate croissant!!"
*dies*

Oh yes, I did see that Bill Nighy was in it! Did anyone beside me watch the behind the scenes... extra slug songs? Those were great! And the interviews with the actors too... Andy Serkis was so funny! I love his description of Spike.

Oh, and Rita's family! It cracked me up because it reminded me so much of my eldest sister and her 9 kids. "They call me Shocky." Hahah!

I'm actually surprised people other than Brits like it, as I don't think it did too well over in the US, and I didn't think Americans would "get it". :P There are a lot of referances to British things after all.

Extra slug songs!!?? :-o *gets DVD*
