Cloverfield..or whatever they decide to name this lol

Produced by JJ Abrams. This movie is starting to generate some massive buzz on little more than a trailer. There is no synopsis, no known cast, no name, nothing. I don't know what else to say but view the trailer (unless you've already seen it). See what'cha think.

Dude, I saw a preview for this in theatres a while back. And I was just kind of like, :jawdrop:

Ha ha ha. I mean, I sat there....stunned. I didn't exactly know what to think. So, I'm really interested in seeing what it is! And knowing that it's a JJ Abrams thing....well, you KNOW it's gonna be insane. :P I've no idea what to expect, but I think I'll definately be seeing it. :)

W00t Old thread revival XD

I'm still super psyched for this. Still don't know anything about it, other than it's not Godzilla just some other sort of monster movie from the twisted mind of JJ Abrams.

Go on to the movie site and sit with it for about 5 or 6 minutes.
Just don't have your speakers up too loud

The characters all have MySpace pages..but I can't remember the links. I'll try and find them and post them up.

I haven't checked in a while, but I don't think so.

I'm really enjoying the mystery of the whole project. So very little is known about it. The name of the movie, what the basic plot is, what the monster is or looks like. I'm so psyched for it.

i know! i think it's a great way to bring publicity. i think more people are going to see it because they don't know anything about it. it's a neat idea b/c the preview doesn't give anything away like all other movie trailers do. i want to see the monster!

Definetly. It's peaked so much interest and curiosity and a lot of the people realise JJ Abrams is a very talented guy, so are confident it'll be worth while to take the risk in going in relatively blind.

I don't think I want to see the monster. I'm kinda excited at the prospect of not knowing anything about it. That's rare in this day and age.

i saw an official commercial, or the end of one. it's called cloverfield after all. i like 1-18-08 better. :P

(edited 1-18-08. lol)

hey it's finally out! if i can scavenge up some money then i might be able to see it on sunday! *Squee* it is pretty rare to have a movie like this. not knowing anything about it, and what makes it better is it has a monster!!!! i just hope it doesn't turn out like the villiage, where there really wasn't anything to worry about (not bashing the movie, i actually loved it)
i think it'll turn out great! i've already heard a basic outline of the movie about something but it didn't give anything away, but it sounds amazing!

NOTE: This post is certified spoiler-free. :)

OH. MY. GOD.

*Is dead*

I just got home from seeing it and... I'm in shock. It was UNBELIEVABLE. I knew I had to go see it before anything was leaked, so I went and stood in line for an hour and a half to get a ticket. Every show sold out, so I'm glad I did. IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH IT.

I've just... never seen anything like it. The classic "monster attacks New York" plot was turned into something completely new, different and amazing. The acting was phenomenal. It was almost non-stop action, and I'm pretty sure I didn't blink the entire film.

Here's the only way I can sum up how fantastic it was without spoilers:
After the screen went dark at the end and before the credits rolled, there was this collective exhalation from the whole audience... like they'd all been holding their breath the entire film. Everyone just sat in their seats, completely silent, totally stunned from what they had just seen. Then after about fifteen seconds, the crowd burst into a STANDING OVATION.

It was just that good.

I want to see it so bad! It looks amazing, although I've heard a lot of negative reviews about it.

I am just so busy and never have time to go see movies since I live far away from a good theater. My theater probably won't be showing it for another 2 weeks :annoyed2:

Argh. I want to see it so bad.

Thanks for the non-spoiler post Tim. It's not out here in the UK till the 1st of February, so I have to wait till then. I've managed to avoid spoilers so far. Only a couple of more weeks to wait :explode:

I don't think I'll be able to see it if it's anything like the trailer. The whole handheld camera thing is way too annoying for me - I couldn't watch a whole movie like that. Maybe they just made the trailer that way, is there anyone who's seen the film who can tell me whether it's all handheld or if there is also steadicam shots?

The film seems amazing but I simply won't be able to watch it if it's all handheld
