What If You Could Have One Movie Of Your Choice (From Any Previous Year) Re-released This Year?

I don't believe this topic has ever been discussed here, but I got to pondering it over a few days ago when my brother and I were talking about what movies we wish would come back to theaters. :) so what movie would YOU like to see in the theater again? Any movie at all! Except LotR because, of course, we'd all like to see that one. ;) but any other movie from Star Wars, to Phantom of the Opera, to Chronicles of Narnia, to Spider-Man, to James Bond, to Pirates of the Caribbean or even to X-Men and animated Disney movies! Anything whatsoever, older ones through the year 2007. :-D

my personal choice would probably have to be one of the PotC movies (duh! lol)... not sure which one though.

Haha, me and my brother have often talked about this.

Oh, dear. I don't think I could ever pick one.... yes...yes, I could. I know you said we couldn't pick LOTR but I have a very good reason for doing so....

The Fellowship pf the Ring - I never saw this in the cinema. LOTR meant nothing to me back in 2001, so I missed the opportunity to witness this full scale. Hearing the Fellowship theme pounding out of the speakers, feeling the ground shake as the cave troll tries to pummel Frodo. *sigh*

Here's a few more I'd like to see as well.

Jurassic Park - I'm not one of those people, who once they see a film in the cinema, lament when they have to watch the film on a small TV screen, but this must have been wonderful to see on a massive screen in its glory. One of the most magical scenes in film history, when they first see the dinosaurs and the Jurassic Park theme swells... would be stunning on the big screen.

Beauty and the Beast - I did see this at the time but it was so long ago. As my favourite Disney film, I would love to see this again.

Any Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers film - This would be great to watch an older film in the cinema (although I did see It's A Wonderful Life at Christmas) and especially a musical with all the extravagance that goes with them.

The Phantom of the Opera - I would have liked to have seen this in the cinema, but I missed the opportunity, so this is definitely one I would love to see.

Star Wars - The 1997 unmessed up version!!! The one I saw 11 years ago! And the film that made me love films and bad guys.

There are probably loads more but.... :P .... I can't remember them.

I think I would want to see Schindler's List re-released in cinemas, as well as the films listed by JF

Star Wars- Original Trilogy. Loved them from the time I was only a five year old, and I want to see it again in theaters.

I would also like to have any of the X-Men films rereleased in theaters as well.

I'd love to see Newsies re-released in theaters - it mostly bombed back in 1992, because no one wanted to see a musical in theatres at that time.... but with today's High School Musical and Rent generation, I think it would be a big hit...

.... not that I'd want to share my Newsies with anyone ^_^

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy - Back-to-back of course. I missed it when they did this in the cinemas and I'd love to have the chance to see it on the big screen again.

The Phantom of the Opera - I was a late-comer to the PotO fandom, and I'm quite sad for it. I would've loved to see this movie in the cinema.

Pride and Prejudice - I don't know how I missed this one as well, but it would have been wonderful to see it in the presence of other Jane Austen fans.

Sense and Sensibility - For the same reason as Pride and Prejudice, except I'd also be in the presence of Alan Rickman fans as well. Who could think of a better place to be?

Robin Hood: Prince of Theives - Corny and old I know, but being the presence of more Alan Rickman fans when he was younger with even more sex appeal than even now it would have been even better.

Titanic - I cried so hard when I saw this movie for the first time, but unfortunately I was much to young to see it when it first came out. I would love to sit in a cinema full of people sobbing their eyes out though. I love it when people get all emotional like that.

Soo.. I've got at least a million more movies to list, but this is all I've got time for. I'm off to bed. :zzsoft:

I've just thought of a pile more so I'm just going to list them.

Frankenstein
The Bride of Frankenstein
My Fair Lady
The Guns of Navarone
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Bringing Up Baby
Rebecca
Bedknobs and Broomsticks
Driving Miss Daisy
Yankee Doodle Dandy
The Mummy
Rear Window
Van Helsing
Way Out West
The Bridge on the River Kwai
Pride and Prejudice
Gigi

I've gone with a mixture of films that a) I think would be enhanced watching it in the cinema b) films I love so much I could watch them on whatever sized screen, so why not make it big? and c) films I missed out on watching in the cinema.

The Lord of the Rings Motion Picture Trilogy: Sure, it's amazing with our surround sound, but seeing them all again on the big screen would be amazing. Perhaps even with touched up CGI in FotR, make them just as believeable as TTT and RotK.

Saving Private Ryan: Never got a chance to see it in theatres, and since it's one of my favorite movies of all time, i would enjoy it so much.

Schindler's List: Being around a year old when this was released, I would much enjoy it to be re-released. It's a striking and gorgeous movie, and would love to see it on the big screen.

This is a brilliant topic. What would I want to see...

Secret Window is my first one, I think.

There are about a gazillion others, but I think I'll leave that for now.

I would have LOVED to see The Goonies when it came out in theater. I was just a wee kid when it was released so I missed seeing it on the big screen. It's been one of my all-time favorite childhood movies so I'd be stoked if they would release it again!

It truly was amazing to see on the big screen! It was so new and cool and awesome when it came out. You totally thought the dinosaurs were real! I saw the second one in the cinema as well.

It was SO spectacular on the big screen. So lush and majestic. This was me throughout the entire thing: :o

I saw this film five times in the cinema. Sobbing my eyes out every single time. The second time I saw it I was bawling through the opening credits already because I knew what was going to happen at the end of the film. LOL. My friends thought I was nuts, haha. It was such a beautiful film to see on the big screen. It was so unlike anything that had ever been made before and the special effects were just jaw-dropping (by the standards of those days).

What an interesting topic.

My choices:

The original Star Wars trilogy. Not the Special Editions, not that I don't enjoy them, I just think it would be awesome to see them in there original form on the big screen.

Blade Runner: Directors Cut - This is one of the most visually breathtaking films of all time. I'd geekgasm if I ever got a chance to see this in the cinema.

Akira - Another visual stunner and an all time Anime classic. Words can't express my love for this movie.

Pitch Black - Never got the chance to see this in the theatre, so would love to see it make it there one day. Such an underrated movie.

Terminator 1 & 2 - I'm a huge mark for the Terminator franchise and they would do well to capitalise on the popularity of the tv show and re-release both of these in directors cut format.

I would totally love to see Pitch Black in theaters again. Vin Diesel is amazing.

And I can't believe I didn't say anything about this earlier. Two words. STAR WARS.
