[cue uncontrolled sobbing]
Robert Pattinson is to play Edward?! Edward's 17! Pattinson's, like, 21! It wouldn't be so bad if he looked 17, but he doesn't! Yes, he was ok in GoF, but there's four years between filming that and this! *hangs head* Not to mention his face is all wrong, and his eyes... he doesn't look a thing like Edward.
(btw, for those who don't know, Kristen Stewart's been cast as Bella. Her I'm happy with, but... *glares upward*)

Oh yay... another book to movie. *sigh*
No, I'm actually very happy their making a movie of Twilight, I just generally wish Hollywood would be more original!
Anyway, I actually like the idea of Patterson as Edward. His age doesn't bother me, since it's pretty easy to fake 17 and besides, Edward always carries himself as far beyond his years with good reason, so a roughly 21-year old isn't such a stretch. And he is good looking.
The problem with a movie of Twilight though is that the book had a lot of personality, told from a 1st person view and I'm afraid the movie will just come off as a little cheesy if they try to pull it off the same way the book does.

Thanks, JF... *deep breath*
Ok, I've calmed down now. I wasn't quite myself when I wrote that, I'd just found out, and was a little... mmm, distraught?, shall we say
I know a lot of people loved Pattinson as Cedric, and will be really happy with him as Edward (I don't know how many Cedric fan sites there are out there, but it's gotta be in the thousands), and I am happy for them.
I guess I just have to deal. He may even end up being... acceptable, who knows?

I feel your pain. I'M FEELING THE SAME PAIN. *dies* *comes back to life*
NOT EDWARD. *hyperventilates (the bad kind)*
I'm sure he'll be . . . fine, but... No. No, no, no.

i never had a problem with the casting. in fact, i'm more worried about kristen stewart, to be honest. but i was kind of happy about robert pattinson playing edward.

^this is what convinced me to be totally happy with it. i mean, look at this guy! look at the hair, at the beautiful face! okay, i'm getting carried away...i've always loved him, but still, at first i did have a few doubts. not anymore...
and about the age thing, it's pretty common for actors to be older than their character. people look younger on camera, so three or four years isn't a big deal at all.

^ That's what I'm saying - it doesn't bother me that he is older, (I mean, Billy Boyd was how old again when he played Pippin?) just the fact that he looks it. At least to me, he doesn't look 17. I know they can do all sorts of wonderful things with the camera, but... I don't know. Just have to wait for some actual pictures of him as Edward, I s'pose.

... I got a text from a friend saying that he would play Edward
I gasped very loudly and started swearing. He is not Edward. Edward is unbelieveably sexy... him, not so much. *grr* I wanted them to find and unknown and put him on screen so I could be extremely jealous of Bella... -_-
As for Kristen Stewart, was she the girl in the one Superman t.v. show? I'm having a total mind blank and can't remember what it was called.

as far as looks go, i think she'll make a good bella. i'm not entirely sure about her acting, though.

err... Bella doesnt have blue eyes does she.... i thought that she had brown or something similar. If they give her blue eyes I will cry...
i guess we do... Edward is supposed to make all the girs swoon, and wish they were Bella. If he is Edward, I`m running the other way

yeah, i hope they at least give her brown contacts...it screws things up for me that harry potter has blue eyes in the movies...it's not that hard to fix eye colors, people!
but yeah, i still love robert pattinson. haha.

Ugh, I am definitely not a fan of Mr. Pattinson. Most certainly not. When I heard about it, I pretty much ranted about it for ages. I don't mind Kristen Stewart too much, even though I always picture Bella as having lighter hair (I tend to picture characters on who their personailty reminds me of, and I hardly ever listening to how they're actually described). But Robert Pattinson? Seriously?
I've pretty much already decided to never see the movies, and to close my eyes and ears and hum really loudly when the trailers come on tv. Everytime I see a movie of a book, I can never picture the character the way I thought originally. I only ever see the actor. So, I refuse to let Robert Pattinson ruin the Edward in my head. Not allowed.

When I heard they were definiteky making Twilight into a film I was really disappointed because they are such good books, and I was really worried it would ruin the books. I've kind of accepted it now, but I'm still really anxious.
I really don't like the choice for Bella. It isn't how I imagined her at all. I imagined her with much softer features, and a rounder face. Oh well.
Robert Pattinson... Do you reckon he'll have an american accent in the film?
I'm really uncertain about this choice. But let's face it: There really is no perfect Edward that everyone could agree on and it could have turned out a lot worse.
I'm really nervous about this film. It could either turn out to be awesome or really not good.
