Post subject: | Marilyn Monroe |
(I don't know if this is in the right place, move it if it isn't...) Today is the 43 anniversary of Marilyn Monroe's death. I just want everyone to know because she is a woman who has changed my life and will be in my heart forever. She is not a product or an idol or even a "hero" she is someone I respect and I would have loved to have known her. "The journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path... One that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all change to silver glass... ...And then you see it. White shores... and beyond. The far green country under a swift sunrise." -Gandalf (LOTR: Return of the King) <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v291/normajeanemonroe/2marilyn152.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com"> |

I haven't seen any of Marilyn's movies either, but maybe I will after this...I used to think she was "just another dumb blonde" (pardon to any blondes out there), but she is actually someone who deserves respect. And why would a woman at the height of her career, with no apparent depression, commit suicide at the age of 36? ![]() |

Yes, thanks for posting that article eowynfaramir4eva, I never thought she killed herself, she had no reason to. For those of you who haven't seen any of her movies watch Some Like it Hot, yes, it is one of her stereotypical roles but she was a great comedeanne. If you want to see her good acting ability see Bus Stop or The Misfits. I am so so so so so happy you have changed your mind about her Larien. |

ive never seen a movie of hers, but ive wanted to. she was a beautful woman, and ive heard a great role model for young girls. i should really see a movie of hers. heres a pretty picture of her ![]() and this interesting quote that goes along with the topic of is she was suicidal. "I want to grow old without face-lifts...I want to have the courage to be loyal to the face I have made. Sometimes I think it would be easier to avoid old age, to die young, but then you'd never complete your life, would you? You'd never wholly know yourself." |

A lot of people now believe she didn't commit suicide based on an interview she did days before her death. Monroe is a classy lady, I absolutly adore her. |
