OH HELLO. YES.

Jodhaa Akbar is AMAZING. Amazing story, actually pretty well made, pretty people aaaaaand the music is amazing.

Fanaaa is another really great one. Also Mohhabatein. But both are a tad on the depressing side. Fanaa music is PHENOMENAL, however.

Mein Ho Naa is totally great. Its funny, great music, completely Bollywood cheesy. In short - four hours of entertainment.

Need more suggestions or descriptions? :P

Aha Saira gave you a really good list to start of with already. But my most recent favourite is My Name Is Khan. Brilliant story and acting, though not much dancing I fear, still it has Shah Rukh Khan AND Kajol together again in a movie! WIN. I was tearing up through the whole movie so if you do decide to watch it, walk with a towel. :P

Also Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham and Baghban, both of these feature Amitabh Bachchan and he used to be the King of Bollywood until Shah Rukh sorta won the title from him. But that's beside the point, they're both beautiful movies and once again, they brought a lot of people to tears. 8D

And last, if you want something upbeat and with really good songs that you could dance to then try Salaam-e-Ishq.

I've grown up on Bollywood movies since I am of Indian decent :P so I shall try to go through our DVD collection and make a list for you sometime. :P

Salaam E Ishq is really good. -nodnodnod-

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai - get a tissue box. Im serious. But its also a great classic like Khabi Kushi and Baghban.

For some reason I found My Name Is Khan to not be as... Bollywood-ey? xD I dont know. I thought that it was also targeting the (Ahem) Western world as well. Some of the charm was lost for me.

No, Im not Indian :P Im 100% European. So.

DEVDAS. Amazing one also. Really, REALLY shiny.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi - Really funny, with heaps of music.

I'll try and come up with a few more :P

Lol true My Name Is Khan does have a more Western appeal, but honestly I couldn't help myself in recommending it, I've been doing that ever since I saw it. xD I loved it because of Rizvan's view on Islam and I was moved by it, so I dunno it had a certain personal appeal to me. xD

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is a classic, how could I forget? D: Aah well, my brain is foggy right now so I can't think of anything else, and I'm too lazy to sort through the boxes with DVDs now seriously. :P

If you like shiny and Aish, I do recommend Devdas. It's incredible as Sairahiniel has pointed out.

another good one is Aaja Nachle (although it doesn't have Aish). It is one of my favorites as it has a portrayal of an old love story (likened to Romeo and Juliet).

Oh, and Saawariya has really nice sets although an odd story. Regardless, I love the visuals and I love the music.

b) Aishwarya Ray is really pretty.

Hahahaha, my roommates and I all think Aishwarya is gorgeous!

I mainly watch Bollywood when I'm sick (haha)... it's usually the only time I have to watch the 3 hour epics.

Anyway, I've seen Jodha Akbar! I liked it but when I mentioned it to my boss (who is from southern India) she laughed and said "That's a horrible movie. I have many that are better." We even had an Indian movie night after work, but I don't remember the movie. I'll find out. It was cute!

Anyone ever seen What's Your Rashee?
