I'm not very fond of the Brittish version because they concentrate (ironically ) on the clothes too much. The American version to me is much better, because they always try to help the person take a step forward in life. It's kind of inspiring. Plus, Stacey London and Clinton Kelly are hilarious.
Does anyone else like it?

I love this show! I haven't seen it in forever, but whenever I catch it on, I'm glued By far my favorite 'makeover show'

Stacey and Clinton are, indeed, extremely funny. I LOVE this show I know people who would be so priceless on What Not To Wear, too. Once there was a 24-hour marathon of it on TV and my mom and I did basically nothing else all day except plant ourselves on the couch with popcorn. She's forever spouting Stacey/Clinton tips, too, when we go shopping. It's pretty funny. Much better than her standing outside the fitting room giving me Oprah tips, though

Love the show! It's somewhere in my top 10 fave shows! I love Stacy and Clinton, and I use the tips sometimes for when I go shopping

I know, it's so hard to tear yourself away once you start watching. And it's really helpful to shop by their tips! Except... a lot of times that leads to really expensive clothes. I also like to follow Carmandy's make up advice... it's really neat the way she pulls together a polished, yet natural look that's usually very fast.

Oh, I love to watch this show!
It does get fairly addictive once you start watching... and the other day while I was watching it actually did inspire me to play around (but not cut! ) with my hair a little... Stacy and Clinton are amazing! And what they do with some of these people is too!
But you're right, Taur, a lot of the time the clothes they put on the people are really, really expensive. Nice but too expensive for me. still some of their advice does come in handy...

This show is definitely my guilty pleasure.
And the ridiculous thing is - I dress in things that they would definitely criticize. Haha.
But it's so humorous at times. I watch it strictly to laugh; although sometimes I might use one of their tips... but it is rare.

*conspires to nominate FM*
It's a lot of fun to watch, even when your not into to fashion at all. I always feel a little sorry for the woman they make over, like how harsh they are when they are throwing away the old clothes and watching the secret footage, but I think it's kind of part of the transformation. Kind of like a bucket of cold water in the face, if you know what I mean.
Oh, and isn't it neat the way Stacey and Clinton work so well together? I mean, they even finish each others sentences. It is very fun.

I know, me too! Nick always cuts it so short, I don't think I could stand it! I kind of played around with my hair too, and last time I had it cut way shorter than I meant to! (It's still past my shoulders, but it still feels really weird to me, even after a couple weeks! )

I would be so scared to let him do that to my hair, I had it short once and really really hated it. It made my head look like a bush. I think I'm somewhat fashion oriented, though, and I don't think Canadians can go on What Not To Wear anyway. Lol.
But I always wonder if they have old clothes hidden in the depths of their closet, you know? Stuff Clinton and Stacey miss...and then they pull it out after and go back to the...dark side...as it were...

Wow, I nearly forgot about this thread.
Mm, I'm pretty sure I've seen Canadian's on it. But I think as long as you don't cut up your shirts or go out in a see-through you're safe.
I'm sure they do! Though I think they would rather die than wear them where anyone could see them.

(It's still past my shoulders, but it still feels really weird to me, even after a couple weeks! ) yeah! My mom has mentioned how short he always cuts the girls' hair... I don't think I'd like it as short as some of them either. I like my hair long... but sometimes I enjoy curling it or doing something a little more to it. and someday I might like to get my hair cut.... but I guess I'm too scared! I've wondered about that very thing too!
I see there's a What Not To Wear re-do tonight (I think) where they do go back and see how the people are doing now... at least I think that's what it's about (it looked like that on the commercial). So that would be interesting!

I know, he always calls it a "security blanket," and I won't lie, some days it is. But other days it's just fun and you can mess with different styles and parts and stuff.
Oo, fun! I love the re-dos! Though I'm sure it's really frustrating to have to go through and have all your clothes thrown away again.

Tarquende: LOL! If someone nominated me. I. Would. Die. Of happiness of course... just to be around the wonnerful Stacy and Clint... whee! But still, I can't say parting with my rag-tag baggy pants would be easy. Sadness. And my hair too! Gah! It took me forever to grow my hair this long... no men with scissors must get near it!
Gasp! I've never seen any re-do's!!! They actually go back and revolutionize someone's closet for the second time?!

^ Depends, they go through film them secretly and go through their closet again and see if they fell back into old habbits. If they have... well... It's about to start on TLC right now if you want to watch.
I think it'd be pretty fun to hang out with Stacey and Clinton, and get $5000 and a vacation in NYC! I would miss my old clothes too, but... hey, life goes on.

I confess. I am a closet What not To Wear fan. In fact, I watch it almost every day. I love it. Stacey and Clinton are hilarious and wonderful, and I like Nick and Carmindy as well. I don't dress that badly, but I'd start if it meant getting to go on that show and spend a week in New York getting a whole new wardrobe.

Some days it is... but I agree more often (for me) I just like playing around with my hair and seeing what I can do with it. And with short hair you can't really play around with it as much. oh, yeah! Well, I watched most of it and it wasn't exactly like I thought it'd be but it was still pretty good.... ^same here! I don't dress that badly either but I would love, love, love to go on their show! all these people act like it's the worst thing in the world but if they nominated me I would so be all over the chance! I would love to hang around with Stacy and Clinton and get their advice and buy all those pretty clothes with their money!
