Post subject:  Watching movies--with people or without?

Who do you like to watch movies with, preferably? Alone? With friends? Family? Everyone's different.

I think that overall I like watching movies by myself. Then I can think what I wish, and more importantly, show more emotions. It's so hard to stop myself from laughing out loud or crying when other people are around, especially my friends. It's annoying.

It's different with both of my parents too. My mom and I watch movies similarly--I think we both like to forget it's just a story and just sink into it. My dad is the opposite, a lot of the time. He sees it more as a movie than something real, a fact I find annoying especially when we watch LotR. He's always commenting on the special effects, the actors, the costumes, when I want so much just to forget about all that, be in Middle Earth.

So who do you most enjoy watching movies with?

I usually watch movies with my mum (she loves LotR too) or by myself. I don't like watching movies with people if they talk all the way through it, :annoyed: but my mum never does that. :-D

I like watching movies with some friends or family. I'm not much of the type to just sit down and watch something by myself, unless I'm sick on the couch. Ha ha!

I like watching movies at home by myself, but definitely with friends or family in the theater. It's lonely at the theater by oneself, but I don't mind at home, because whenever I watch movies at home my family ends up giving their personal commentary through the whole thing, usually making fun of it :annoyed:

I only like watching movies by myself. No annoying kids ruining the movie or the mood.

Watching a movie alone is a treat for me, something I only get to do once it a while. Usually it's me with at least five of my siblings...

depends. with horror movies I like to watch them with people. with others I'd prefer to be alone. I get really into movies sometimes and a lot of people distracts me.

Making fun of movies is my speciality. 8) Only when they are beyond stupid, or if they are movies I've seen way to many times. Ha ha!

I prefer to watch it with someone, because then I have someone to discuss it with. Otherwise I have to carefully explain the plot to whoever I inflict my commentry of the film on, and that spoils it for them if they ever see it...

because I've grown up with a TV for most of my life, and I rarely saw films, it took me years - I must have been 12 - before i could watch a film and understand it all. Hence, I'd always be asking questions so I could follow it! This means that I don't... really have a problem with talking during films. I enjoy passing comments on the film... preferably amusing comments... but that's just me...

If I've seen the film before, I don't mind watching alone, or if it's something I know everyone else in my family won't really appreciate... but I don't watch much at all, anyway...

I usually like to watch movies with my bro, sis or my pal`s, but not my parents fince they don`t really get the movies which I watch or they are just somewhere else whenever I decide to watch em...

Alone? Sure when I feel immensly bored... it`s all the same to me...

I only will watch movies alone if no one else likes the movie I'm watching. Normally, I don't like watching alone. I like to talk about the movie with other people, make fun of it, run long-winded commentaries on it...

Oh definately with people. I cannot imagine myself without people most of the time. It's best shared with someone.

Well, if I've seen the movie a couple of times, I don't mind watching it with other people (mainly friends) because then we can talk about it, laugh and make fun of it, all that good stuff. And I don't have to worry about missing anything because I've already seen it.

I, however, don't mind going to the theatre by myself. Most people think I'm strange, but it doesn't bother me, and it gives me a chance to actually absorb what's going on rather than being distracted. And if I'm at home with family, there's more chance of lots of noise and just plain annoyances. So, I do prefer watching by myself, at least the first time I see a movie.

Watching with friends is a definately different atmosphere than watching with family. So, I prefer watching with friends. Except if it's like BBC style (ha ha ha - Pride and Prejudice), I like watching those kind of things with my mom because I basically grew up on them with her. Ha ha ha.

It depends... as with most people, if I've never seen it I'll watch it with someone who hasn't either, or just by myself.

But with movies I've seen a million times, they're usually just backround noice at get togethers. And ppl shush others during the good parts. : )

Most definatley with people. My friends and i twist every movie, and make even the sad parts funny. LotR is not the same since i watched it with my friends. Gandalf falling with the balrog does not make me sad.
Aragorn saying farewell to Boromir, not a tear is shed.
Sam coming to Frodo's aid after he has been poisened by shelob, I laugh!
I may view LotR differently, but I love watching movies with my friends. They are always funnier when there is some one to share it with.
