didn't I post on this topic? Hmm, apparently not.
But yeah, me and M-o-T saw it a little over a week ago or something.
And yes, it's amazing with all the special effects and all, but very unrealistic. how and why does Robbie survive? He was in the middle of a giant explosion!?
I don't think I wanna see it again. One time is enough for me. But sure we were a little ... or felt a little weird when we walked out. don't know what it was exactly.

I thought the movie was great. I wish that Miranda's part was bigger though. I think that she is one of the most underrated actresses of our time and not used nearly enough. But the parts she was in she was incredible, of course. Dakota Fanning was excellent as well. If she keeps on the path that she is on she will definitely win an Oscar one day. I'm not a huge Tom Cruise fan but I thought he was very good in this film. His emotions were perfect and I think that this movie was his best acting since Jerry Maguire. Anyway, that is just my little view on the film.

I saw this movie on opening day but not really by choice I was in Washington DC with a big group of people, and they all wanted to see it. I thought it was alright.... the special effects were really well done, as usual in a Spielberg film. Although, like a typical Spielberg (and Tom Cruise) movie, it was really predictable, and there were things that were um, unrealistic (not just the aliens).
I'll admit though, I was really tense through a large part of it, but when Tom Cruise was getting sucked up out of the cage, and the other people in the cage pulled him back down, my friend and I just completely lost it laughing. Then another friend yelled "YEAH!" when they made the first robot topple over, and the whole theater was laughing, and another girl in my group yelled "I don't understand why everyone's laughing, I'm freaking out over here!" aah 'twas funny, but I guess you had to be there.
The movie was entertaining, at least.

I thought it was good but I agree that some bits were a bit unrealistic esspecially Robbie surviving and getting to Boston before them. On the other hand it was mostly far more realistic than the usual aliens attack films like independence day. It actually gave you the idea of what it would like to be a normal person when a hugh disaster happens. In that respect it reminded me of The Day after Tomorrow.
Oh and I didn't realise that Miranda was in it untill I saw her name in the credits the secound time I watched the film
