The Black Cauldron. One of Disney's forgotten movies.. Doesn't explain why the villain is populer enough to appear on a Disney Villain's Beach Towel though..

But from what i've read on the computer, not many people seem to like it.
1: Parent's think it's "To scary" for their kids(Watch Something Wicked this was Comes. It's more scary.)
2: People that read the books, from what i know, hate the movie because it differs to much from the books(There are plenty of movies that 'differ' from books. Believe me, i've seen worse!)

Here is a brief summery of the movie, as i have not seen it in years.
The movie stars a boy named Taren who has to protect an Oraculer Pig called Hen Wen from the movies main villain. Taren and Hen Wen are traveling through a forest and Taren loses sight of Hen Wen. Not long after that, he meets a critter called Gurgi who is kinda like Smeagol/Gollum except nicer and cuter. Taren and Gurgi find Hen Wen, but she is being chased by these Dragon like critters and is captured. Taren follows these dragons to the lair of the villain: The Horned King..

I hear their coming out with a DVD sometime around June 2010 and that it will have Restored Deleted Scenes. I've actually had the honor of seeing a picture on the computer of one of these deleted scenes: A man, most likely one of the Horned King's Henchmen, being disolved by mist. Trust me, it ain't pretty

Anyways, after hearing of the DVD coming out, i've been all hyped up and wanting to watch the movie.. So, has anyone else seen the Black Cauldron?


By Golly! The Horned King(John Hurt) does Aragorns voice in the Cartoon Bakshi version of Lord of the Rings! And also inspired the appearence of Gothmog when it comes to John Hurt's roll as the Elephent Man..

I've seen the Black Cauldron but I didn't like it. It wasn't because it was supposedly "darker" than the other Disney movies (which I didn't think it was), it was just really boring. I think the lack of songs also made the movie seem much longer than it actually was.

i love this movieeeeeeeeee! i have it on dvd! i watched it when i was a kid and i don't think it's that scary! i don't think it's boring either it's a really good story!
and gurgi is just hilarious!
