I've read all three books I really liked 'em all...Bartimaeus is so funny!!
The ending of the last one is really sad, though, just to let you know.

I hereby declare this thread resurrected. I was going to start one but I figured I might as well make sure I wasn't being repetitive
And yes, the third one is sad. I was sort of disappointed that the romantic pairing I wanted ended up not being able to happen, but it was superbly written. I adore Bartimaeus's footnotes.

aren't they awesome! the writer is superbly witty, and Bartimaeus makes me laugh every time, i actually found myself skipping ahead to his chapters so i could read the footnotes.

I particularly liked how at the end of book 3, when Nathaniel and Bartimaeus sort of meld, Nathaniel gets confused by the footnotes. It made me laugh. Bartimaeus in general makes me laugh, even without the footnotes.

I think I am going to add this to my 'need to read' list, which is already too long, but it sounds good.

I totally regret buying The Thief Lord instead of the first book in The Bartimaeus Trilogy. I CAN'T believe I did that! I'm definitely going to read this eventually... it seems SOOO good, esp. after reading this thread!!
