Hey...soap operas are FUNNY! :P And I read Eldest AFTER I thought of my Snape "idea." However I think it may have been Star Wars that influenced me....oh, and finding out that I look more like my uncle than my dad. But hey, it was just a funny thought. I actually don't really care...I just know that Snape wants it for himself...*evil cackling* *cough* Ha ha ha. And "it" is whatever dear Voldemort wants....whether or not that includes Harry dead...."it" is whatever his goals are for after Harry being killed--assuming that he thinks he's going to survive...wow...how confusing I can be...

"You killed myfather!"
"Fool, I am your father!"
"Noooooooooooooooooooooo!"

Sorry, really couldn't resist.
It would be a pretty awful ending. JKR is a really good author, she wouldn't use something as lame and unoriginal as that.

Well, one of my friends is sure that Albus Dumbledore is so powerful that he'll come back to life. She hasn't read LOTR, or seen the movies, but if that were to happen, I will burn everything I own that's HP. That's how angry it would make me if Dumbledore pulled a Gandalf.

How true. I'd do the same. Harry just needs to figure things out on his own now. He doesn't have Sirius or Dumbledore, so he doesn't exaclty have anyone smarter than him (minus Hermione) to tell him what the bloody hell is going on. For once, thick headed Harry may have to think for himself...not fumble around blindly. Well, my guess is he will anyways...but won't have Dumbledore or Sirius to help.

Yeah, Harry is a pretty boring character. He always has to be the corageous hero, and he has no personality. It'll be interesting to see im having to think for himself.

I agreew ith everything said here. Harry can't think for himself! What is he going to do, have Hermione help him? Mrs. Weasly? Ha, that'd be a laugh. Lupin and Moody most likely, with Tonks. Harry'll never think for himself, it's not possible.

No, Potter cannot think for himself. He needs the Hogwarts library, the Hogwarts teachers, Hermionie, Dumbledore, Sirius, the Weaslys (Weaslies?), and all the rest of his fan club in order to figure out what feet to put his shoes on. If he strikes out on his own...
Let's just say he'll have a little trouble walking.

Well, he basically said it himself in book 5 I believe. When Hermione wanted him to form that D.A. group. I don't kow the exact words, but he basically said he stumbles around not knowing what the hell he's doing. Ha ha ha. So true, so true.

See, he even admits it. Hary won't survive the next book enless theres someone to help him. AndI reckon he'll be so distraught that he won't even accept hermionie and rons help, he'll just tell them to go away.

Woah, major Harry abuse!
Rowan wrote: He always has to be the corageous hero, and he has no personality. It'll be interesting to see im having to think for himself. I don't think that's fair...he has a personality first of all. Definately. And he can think for himself, he's just never sure of himself and wants reassurance from others. Which is his problem of course. Quote: What is he going to do, have Hermione help him? Mrs. Weasly? Ha, that'd be a laugh. Lupin and Moody most likely, with Tonks. Of course it's possible, and that's what we'll see from him in the 7th book.

Yes, (and I apologize for the Harry-bashing Beri) he's a moddy little thing now, isn't he? He used to be kind to his frineds, be the peace maker, now he's the one yelling at them, pushing them away 'oh it's so hard to be me.' It may be, but I hate it when people do that.

He wasn't so much in this book (HBP) than in OOTP. In OOTP he went beserk! It was almost hard to read when he lapsed into that....at the end of book 5 when he was screaming a Dumbledore, I could understand it...but I felt really strange reading his rants at the beginning of the book. Ha ha ha. But yah...and I guess she's trying to capture that "essence" of teenage angst. And I hate to admit it, but I'm sure we all have experience exactly what Harry did when he was screaming at his friends...maybe not under the same circumstances... Ha ha ha. Maybe that's why we're all so critical of him....(I can't believe I'm saying this... ) ... because we know exactly how he felt. But that's just me. Blame it on the hormones and chemical imbalances in the brain....ha ha ha!
In this book, HBP, he seemed more subdued. And I think I would be too, after losing Sirius just weeks earlier. It'd be insane. I hate to say it, but he seemed almost a bit more rational...like he was slapped in the face with a reality check when Sirius died. So, I guess dealing with that and your raging hormones...aren't exactly a good mix...ha ha ha. Me trying to sound all smart and sophisticated here...ha ha ha.

I agree, he seems to have turned inwards after Siriu' death, and started thinking to himself rather then doing. He's probably still upset that Sirius would be alive if it wasn't for his stupidity, he's gotta be pretty guilty.
