Haha. That's amazing, because I was thinking the exact same thing. Exact. Drugs are bad.

And I totally agree. Hugo and Rose? What?

And Draco too. Come on, you know there had to be some scene between Draco and Harry.

Really? Amazing! *lol* Seriously, though; I thought she was above the influence. :disgust:

Well, I suppose, by a stretch, we could associate rose to the flowers Hermione conjured for Lily and James' graves, or with JK's habit of naming characters after flowers. Hugo, however, is a baffling mystery.

Yeah. That was disappointing. A nod? A nod??? Don't we deserve a little more about our dear Drakey? (I personally am already on that, obeying my plot bunnies like a good girl.)

Haha, me too.

Yeah, Rose was too bad, but I personally find Hugo one of the most hideous names ever. For some reason it reminds me of the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Was his name Hugo?

A nod. Exactly. How lame. I wanted the scene, and I will gladly read fan fics pertaining to it.

Yeh, mine more or less has one, but not at the train station. I'm considering having in somewhere in their early twenties. It'll be in there, though, some how. My ficcy Draco is quite the little chamer, though. Perhaps even more so in opposite-land, the little loser. Yet, a lovable loser. Shall I PM you what I have?

Yes, Hugo is attrocious.
Awful.
Disgusting.
Sickening.
All of the above.

^Oh yes definitely. I'd enjoy that very much.

And I agree 100%.

I regret that we haven't talked before.

Anyway...I still can't get over the Snape thing. I loved it.

It was quite cute, wasn't it? I loved how the relationship between them came to light, and how Snape's loyalty came to light. It wasn't to Dumbledore, or to Voldy, but to Lily. Poetic, in a sense, really.

Then the radio show... Oh. My. God. I have mad love for Lee Jordan, or River, or who ever, now. I recall something about running quicker then Severus Snape from a shampoo bottle... Hilarious.

Yeah, that was so sweet, and believe me, I swore that even if Snape wasn't evil, I would still hate him, but I really do like him alot now.

And Potterwatch was totally amazing. "But the fact remains he can now move faster han Severus Snape confronted with shampoo when he wants to..."

or "That's a basilisk, listeners. One simple test: Check whether the thing you're glaring at has legs.

Yeah, that was really funny. But like I said, mad love for Lee.

I wasn't sure about Snape. I thought he was good for a long time, but then at the beginning when he was so horrible... My faith in dear Severus swayed. I regained my confidence, however, rather quickly the moment he gave Harry the memory.

I think Lee is hilarious, but my love was for the twins; mainly Fred. *sniff*

I hated Snape from the beginning, and when he killed Dumbledore, I was so angry. And I did a little dance because that meant he had to die. But when he actually came around to dying, I found I liked him.

And poor Dobby too. You never realize how much you like a character until they die.

Well, I do, because my fave character always dies. Sirius in HP, Boromir in LOTR, Barbossa and Norry in POTC...

Sirius should NOT have died in book 5. I rest my case at that. Although, he would have been quite the henderence to Harry, wouldn't he? Harry loved Sirius and, as demonstrated book 5, would do absurd things for his safety. Not a good thing, eh?

Anyway, is this or is this not a Deathly Hallows thread?

Lee has always been an exreme case of giggles for me. He might just be my favorite minor character, him.

Fred... Poor Fred. I did always favor George, though, but it's still awful. Imagine what it is for poor Georgie, losing the person he was literally born with. Saddening.

Don't get me started on Dobby. Unnescissary death is an awful habit that JK seemed to have in this book. What about Ted Tonks and those goblins? What about Lupin and Tonks, even? Totally uncalled for.

I could rather proudly call myself a HP hater if I truly wanted to, because of Sirius.
Anyway...

I love Lee, and my fave minor character is probably...Dean Thomas. I don't know why, I just love that kid. He was never mentioned again, after he disappeared...

Fred was pretty much my hero, and now he's gone. That was completely uncalled for, I think, if any death was.

And you can't forget Hedwig. Come on now. But I knew Lupin was gone from the beginning...I believe I mentioned the silver hand thing earlier, and the Marauders in general.
Tonks I figured too, I actually made a list of everyone who I thought would die in the last book, and I had everyone who died correct (I has said one of the twins would die, though I didn't know who) except for Mad-Eye. Never sae that coming. And minor characters of course. And I thought Ginny would die.

I preferred Fred to George, but now I just feel so much pity for George, as Emri said.

I don't understand why JK had to kill off Lupin and Tonks! And Dobby, now I think of it... I mean, Dobby was a hero's death and all, and it was well written, but...

I also really didn't like the "19 years later" bit. Once you'd figured out who's children were who's, and attempted to work out why their names were what they were, (and as someone said, Albus but no Sirius?) then you got even more characters introduced (Teddy, who we know, but then Victoire too) and no plot with Harry or Draco... The worst bit of the book, for me.

I'm so glad I wasn't the only one who thought that about the epilogue, though. xD I mean...it kind of ruined the book for me, you know?

And also the fact that Lily and James died in 1981, which makes Harry born in 1980, and if he was 17 in this book, then it took place in...1997!? That means that Sorcerer's Stone took place in 1990...geez. I wasn't even born then. xD That also kind of bugs me. And that means the Epilogue was in 2017, and as of this year, Harry would be...27.

Eeee, that's just weird.

I quite honestly believe there were WAY too many unnescessary deaths. Dobby's death was sad...but I'm rather angry that she didn't give Lupin a more heroic death. *sigh* OH well.

And all those who died...shouldn't have. :P And I really wanted Ginny to die. That would have been FANTASTIC. But alas...JK has to go and ruin the best literary series since LOTR. HOW does someone DO that?

*goes off ranting again*

Man, I've pretty must lost total faith and respect for JK because of that ending. Because of the last 50 pages...she's ruined one of my favourite series!

*sigh*

You know, I suppose I actually wouldn't have minded the ending...had Harry not ended up with Ginny. Had Ginny died a horrible, terrible, painfully slow death...I would have been able to forgive JK. And I quite honestly think, thanks to that ridiculously stupid ending, I can't ever read any of the other books. It's just ruined it all for me.

I did like Potterwatch. That was brilliantly funny. XD I mean, the whole book save for the last like 2 chapters was PURE brilliance. *sigh*

And the whole Snape/Lily thing will always be my favourite part of that book. It brought me to tears. I was bawling my eyes out whilst reading that chapter. It was just too beautiful.
I mean, I've known that Snape loved Lily and Snape loved Harry since the beginning. But to see it written down. And it was just so poetically written. And reading it KNOWING this beautiful man was dead. Died for Harry and Lily...:'( I LOVE SNAPE. Always have, always will.

And I was even more disappointed with that epilouge with the oh-so-brief glimpse of Draco. Total squirrel poo.
Ha ha ha...One of my favourite quotes from the book:
"She's nutty as squirrel poo!"
XD XD XD
Yeah, that's exactly what JK is.

I must admit I loved the book, it didn't play out how I thought it would, which for me is a pleasant surprise. However, i did have my dilikes about the book and I will be posting a chapter by chapter review of it soo...I have to write in on paper first and then i'll type it( i know i'm still old fashioned) but anyways until then I love reading what everyone else has to say :)

Oh, I also loved the Potterwatch thing. That was hilarious. And I agree about all of the unnecessary deaths- I was a bit surprised how many people died for no reason.

The part where Ron and Hermione started kissing right before they found the diadem made me laugh so hard. And I've never even been much of an H/R. H/G all the way for me!!

I loved it when Percy came back... that whole scene was great.
