Has anyone here read the Redwall series by Brian Jacques? I used to be a HUGE fan of them. I still really like them, but not as much as I used to. I still read them and everything, though. How about you? |

I read Triss, but I really didn't like it, and haven't read anymore. |

I was a huge Redwall fan as a preteen (whoo, I sound so old saying that!) and I have since then become a much bigger LotR fan but Redwall books are still good reading material. I do find them a bit young for me now, but not so much as to be annoying. Plus I am so desperate for reading material, I'll settle for almost anything. I own The Taggerung and Triss, but I think the earlier books are better. |

i still love these books, the lengths are great. They're not for lower reading levels, my fave is the Pearls of Lutra, thats a good one. |

I like them, the only problem is they all seem to have close to the same plot. I'm always caught thinking things like, "Didn't those river rodent things help the main characters fight the last few books? ![]() |

I always get to the ending and skip the last bit. All the happy-happy Redwall bits annoy me vaguely for some unknown reason. Maybe I like stories about Sauron and evil better than little Dibbuns dancing around singing songs about bilberries and stealing the abbot's glasses. Oh, what fun. |

I really enjoy the Redwall books...I've read all of them and even though the plots aren't all that different, they're still fun to read! Though of course, Tolkien is the greater British writer. ![]() |

I read Redwall and Legend of Luke when I was about 10 and I remember enjoying them, but I haven't read any of the others since then. |

I grew up on Redwall, and my family completely loves them. When I was younger, pre-LotR, we had Redwall feasts. Everyone came in costume and brought one of the foods from the books. ![]() I went through a phase where I didn't think I liked them any more because I was so wrapped up in LotR, but this year I've reread all the books (Just finished Salamandastron) and realized that I love them just as much as ever. I don't think they're for younger kids. I think the difference is that they're not novels. The author says something to the effect of, "I don't like to call them fantasy. Fantasy conjures up pictures of swords and knights and dragons. I like to call my books a good yarn." And that's just what they are. They aren't always inconsistent, but who cares? I love them for the enjoyment they bring, with loveable characters and recurring themes. Yes, Radagast and I are the ultimate Redwall fans. ![]() |

I was obsessed with those books in 8th grade, when I started reading them. I like LotR better, and the Redwall books do kind of have the same plot, but I still like them. |

REDWALL!!!!!! okay.... I haven't read one in a while, but I own Triss and Redwall. I read the whole series once upon a time, though I much prefer BJ's Castaways of the Flying Dutchman, Angel's Command, and Voyage of the Slaves (though I haven't read VotS yet cuz it just came out) |

I just read them for the first time, and they're pretty good actually. Good humor, nice characters... all in all make for a smashing story. ![]() |
