I found this artical and thought it was quite amusing:

I especially liked some of their Tips for decorating:
Quote:
Pile them high: Stack books on the floor or in baskets. The casual arrangement makes them inviting.
Yay I'm already doing that, I must be decorating my room well.

And here was me thinking that the only reasons for piling your books up on the floor was you'd run out of shelf space or you were too lazy to put them on the shelf after you'd finished them.

Raise up the light: A lamp that is too low for its location can be raised by placing it on a stack of books, says designer Linda French of Total Interiors, Grapevine. Custom bases can be ordered to raise lamps, but a stack of books is a more personal touch.
I do that too

Again I though the reason was lazyness and the fact that I have excessive amounts of books lying around but it would seem not.
Quote:
Tell a book by its cover: Arrange books by color to help establish a color scheme, French advises.
Not author or genre but colour?
This website that they talk about is very funny:
http://www.bookdecor.com You buy books by the amount of wallspace they take up at it.
