The Squire's Tale, The Squire, his Knight, and his Lady, The Savage Damsel and the Dwarf, The Balad of Sir Dinadan, Parcifal's Page, and many more! These wonderful Arthorian books (series) by Gerald Morris are some of my favorites! Anyone else like them/heard of them? |

i've only read parsifal's page, but i loved it. it made the characters seem more human than most versions do but was still really respectful of the arthurian tradition. haven't been able to find any more though. |

Yeah, that is what I love about the series! I have read all of them, and the only one I didn't care for is 'The Ballad of Sir Dinadan' .... its kinda on its own, not part of the series. But other than that, I have read all of them.. ![]() *squee!* the newest one, 'The Quest for the Fair Unknown' is coming out this month! |

What?! There's a new one coming out? *runs off to look it up* I've enjoyed all the Morris books for his re-tellings of Arthurian tales. Personally, my favorites are The Squire's Tale, and A Squire, His Knight, and His Lady. Savage Damsel and Parsifal were both good (especially Damsel), but the last two (Dinadin and Dung-Cart Knight) I haven't identified with the characters nearly as much. |

I love them!!!!! There's a new one? I like all of them, but my favorites were the first three and the last one. ![]() Rivulus, there's one after Dun-Cart Knight. It's called "The Lioness and her Knight." |

Heeey, I started a thread for this a while ago, and got zero replies! How unfair lol! THERE'S A NEW ONE? I feel unworthy of calling myself a fan! *smacks self across the head* I loved The Savage Damsel and the Dwarf, it was my fave and I adored Lynet and Roger/Gaheris all the time and detested Beaumains/Gareth and Lyonesse. I got so emotionally involved in that book, it was nuts. I'm also fond of Terence, he doesn't come into the books enough ![]() |

I love Terence too! And Gawain. And naturally, Gareth and Lynet. And then Ywain and Rhynce and Luneta. And I definitely meant "Dung-Cart Knight." |

Terence + beard = WRONG. Just WRONG. Terence will always be teenaged to me...though likely he'll change ages conveniently as I do ![]() Well, they're King Arthur stories with a sort of modern spin on them. No, that's not really the right way to put it. Let me see...well, in these books, when someone says, "Stand aside, thou villainous recreant knight, or I shalt cleave you in twain!" most of the major characters start laughing. Does that help explain it? ![]() |
