Post subject:  The Veritas Project
Anyone else read them? Its a christian-based Mystery series by Frank Peretti. I personally think he adds quite a bit of spooky-type horror to them also. ;) I only know of two at the moment, Hangman's Curse and Nightmare Acadamy. I've read the former. Anyone else read/heard of them?

Hmm, well, I've heard of them, and my friend read them :teehee: I actually saw the movie of Hangman's Curse and it was really creepy/scary!

Maybe I'll have to check the books out sometime though :)

lol, I've heard of the movie... I've never seen it though. Is it good? The book is really good, and I got the 2nd today at the library.

I've read them both. Nightmare Academy is actually sitting in my bedroom at the moment, though it was early December when I read it.

Frank Peretti is my favorite Christian author, probably, though I haven't read any of Ted Dekker's books.

If you liked The Veritas Project books, you might also enjoy The Cooper Kids books--they were the first ones of his that I read, and I really enjoyed them.

You're so lucky to have a Library. All I've got is Half.com. And bookstores here, but they have pretty steep prices for the English books they keep.

Aww... I'm sorry, Aerandir! I've never heard of Half.com... I take it it is a bookstore web thing? I finished Nightmare Acadamy last night... The end was SO suspencful. And my sisters just had to inturupt me when they're about to die!

*drools* I. Love. Frank. Peretti's. Books. Hangman's Curse was one of the first novels to make me literally shiver. Mr. Peretti really really really needs to write another one...or two...or three. Haha.

I love Frank Peretti, and this series is my favorite!!! I can never decide which I leke better, Hangman's Curse or Nightmare Academy. They're both incredibly good, with important messages! I especially like Nightmare Academy's "Both/and Either/or" bit. I hear that a lot, and the book explains it so well.

My cousins own them, which is how I got to reading them. I'd really, really like to own them, though! It's been such a while since I read them.

I know! I lOOOOVE the whole 'Both/And Either/Or' thing! I personally like Nightmare Academy ALOT more than Hangman's Curse.... But thats just me. And he REALLY REALLY REALLY needs to write more!

I loved them, they were so awesome! I have both of them; they're so good. The "Either/or both/and" thing was so cool! And it was pretty cool what they were saying about the evolution thing, I thought that was neat.

For me, it was his book The Tombs of Anak when I turned ten. That one freaked me out for a little while. The one that freaked me out the most of his was The Oath. My siblings and I have this thing where almost every creepy book we read is finished at night. I was reading it throughout the day, my sisters stayed up late at night to do it--one of them was in the basement, alone, with the light in the room where she was (at the other end of a sizeable hallway from the stairs up) the only one on in the house. She freaked. :)

:lol: I don't think I could do that... I'm a wimp for scary stories. But hangman's curse didn't really bother me... I don't know why.

Lol, SG. I wasn't really freaked out by Hangman's Curse either, but I think it had something to do with the fact that the killer in there wasn't a monster the way the one in The Oath was. That one was freaky.

Well, I don't read horror stories... As I said, I'm a wimp, and I'll be freaked for weeks... I don't get nightmares, but I do have a kinda'... um.... Over-active imagination. :whistle: But anywho...

Lol, well, I don't know about any of you, but I loved the story Elisha wrote at the begining of Nightmare Acadamy...

"...Your mother gets to be Susan, you get to be Lisa, Elijah gets to be Elias... But Norton?"

^That is possibly one of my favorite quotes. Humor-wise, anyway. Well, that and when Elijah is convinced that he should work for NASA... (Which I agree, he would be very good at. Lol) But, to make the list even longer, my very favorite part of the whole book is when Elijah stands up infront of Mr. Booker and starts quoting... Ok, nevermind. I won't finish that... Don't want to get on the Mods' nerves... Anyway. Anyone else have any fav. Parts?
