Hey people,
it appears, not a lot of the people I know have read "The Old Man and Mr Smith" by Peter Ustinov, so I was hoping to find someone here, who did!
If you haven't read the book, here's what it's about:
God and Satan meet in Washington, DC to decide wheter people still need them or not, wheter they still believe in them or not, etc. Well, it turns out to be pretty dificult as God aka The Old Man forges his own money. They get arrested and everybody thinks they're crazy. And that's where the journey starts: They escape from prison, then from a mental health center, they meet lots of people and find out a lot about them. The book has its funny moments, but it's also interesting to see what people really are like.
I hope that made sense...
Well, in my opinion, it's certainly one of the best books ever written!
If you haven't read it yet: Read it! It's really worth it!

I hope I'll meet some people who like the book as much as I do, so that we can start a decent discussion about it!
:-D

I was utterly amazed and delighted by this book. Of course it has a lot of really biting sarcasm in it, and though it dates from 1990, it has become in parts savagely relevant again and again – say 1995, 2001, 2011, 2017.
