I was wondering if anyone here had any suggestions regarding any period romance books?

I absolutely love romantic novels set in the 19th/18th century, so naturally I adore Jane Austen and have read all hers but I could do with some recommendations, as there are so many out there. :-)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S I HIGHLY recommend Elizabeth Gaskell. Wives and Daughters absolutely equals anything Jane Austen has ever written and North and South is fantastic as well.

"Jane Eyre"-Charlotte Bronte

"Wuthering Heights"-Emily Bronte (I didn't personally care for it myself, but its classic, and I know a lot of people love it)

"King's Row"..cannot recall who wrote it..but its a great tearjerker..plus the film is awesome.

"The Inheritance"-Louisa May Alcott

Thats off the top of my head.....If I think of more I'll edit this.:)

^All good suggestions!

Ah, JF, someone after my own heart! :P Another I would suggest is "Vanity Fair" by William H. Thackeray, a great classic read, and the movie isn't terrible either.
