I'm so lazy, I'll copy and paste a post I made on another forum. ![]()
- Source: Wikipedia The above pretty much sums up what you need to know about the series. When I was introduced to these books by my cousin, he told me "This is the next Lord of the Rings." Well, it's true he was exaggerating because we both knew there's hardly anything that can compare to Tolkien's work but his somewhat false and hugely manipulative statement aside... ![]() ![]() So has anyone else read these? If you haven't, I thoroughly recommend you do. |

Oh my oh my oh my! My mum wastelling me for ages to read first book from the trilogy telling me how amazing it is ^^ I am going to read it very soon, because now I have motivation to read new books. I guess it will be my top fav because I usually love what my mother loves. |

Yes, I read them! And the first part immediately made it to my book top 10 ![]() ![]() I agree with you that the main character is a bit over the top sometimes (eg best student, good musician, loved by the ladies, skilled fighter etc), but he also has something very human that makes me like him a lot. The stories, besides the story of the main character, that are told throughout the book add a nice depth and almost mythological background to the story, which makes it very complete and indeed more in the direction of LOTR than in the direction of the Inheritance-cycle. The book is also very well written, which makes it hard to put it aside once you've started reading. To sum things up (wow this sounds like a bookreport now), I think you really should read this book if you haven't done so, if that wasn't clear already ![]() |

Sadly, no. After some snooping I found that it will most certainly not be this year, but that's about all there is to find. However, given that there were four years between the releases of book one and book two, I'm afraid we're in for quite some wait ![]() EDIT: The current working title is "The Doors of Stone". Maybe you already knew, but it was new for me ![]() |

I did not know that! Bah, I hope it won't be four years. By then I'll have to reread the first two books to remember the story. I probably should anyway though ![]() |
