Having been one who only read the 1st book (Eye Of The World) twenty some years ago, I'm curious what fans of the work think of the planned 'Game of Thrones style' TV series?

For me, I think I would enjoy it, for I didn't invest the time to read the series. I didn't read Ice & Fire past the 7th chapter of Game of Thrones either, and I found the TV series rather enjoyable, so yeah, I'm looking forward to it should it come to be.

I've read seven of the books in the series although, admittedly, the last two were a bit of a struggle due to an over abundance of characters and plots.

In some ways I think The Wheel of Time series will work even better as a TV series than Game of Thrones. Frankly, there's a ton of material to work with and some very compelling characters. I would definitely be interested in watching it; whereas I've not had any inclination to watch Game of Thrones.

In thinking about the books themselves, I definitely enjoyed Wheel of Time more than Game of Thrones. Posting this comment may even have motivated me to begin rereading Wheel of Time.

I think I read the 1st book a number of years ago, but it didn't leave much of an impression on me to want to go further.

I confess to reading all of the god awful books. Not because I enjoyed them but because I am a masochist who had a rule (read the first chapter, read the book; read the first book, read the series).

Though, in my defense, I was very young when I conceived of that rule and Jordan egregiously (and I allege knowingly) misled me into thinking it was a 3 book cycle - max.

Filthy liar and scoundrel.

Subjecting myself to the TV version? B!tch please! Are the god Forsaken (see what I did there?) books not enough?
