Okay, I've just finished reading the Order of the Pheonix for the umpteenth time, and after reading from pages 547-550 and reading how powerful Dumbledore is after taking on those Aurors, Umbridge, AND Fudge, I can't help thing how could someone that powerful have died! And just by Snape! I had a theory that Dumbledore knew Snape had made the unbreakable vow so he let him kill him to stop snape from dieing. But that doesn't sound remotely correct. Or, that Dumbledore himslef is a Horcrux so by Snape killing him he would be destroying one of Voldemorts Horcruxes. But that has a lot of flaws in it as well. I just can't understand how he could have just...died. There must be a reason or a way he can come back, I might be just saying that because I want him to come back so badly but after reading that on OP I will not give up hope. Dumbledore always has a surprise up his sleeve I'm just gonna hope that the tiny drawback of him being dead wont stop him from surprsing me again! |

I believe that he is just dead and gone. Like with Sirius Black. Dumbledore was weakened you see, by being tricked to drink something. |

He's gone. He needed to die. Harry needs to learn to solve his own problems... Incase you haven't noticed, people don't exactly rise from the dead in the Harry Potter books... save Voldemort (in a sense), but the only reason for that was because he took very wrong and evil steps to preserve himself... not something Dumbledore would do. Remember, he is not afraid of death. Oh yes, and I don't think he will return in ghost form either. Remember Nick said at the end of OotP that only those afraid of death and too cowardly to go into the unknown realm of death become ghosts. Dumbledore was certainly not afraid of death (the quote about it being an adventure) |

Well, I believe he's definitely dead, but we already know he's returning in portrait form! The end of Book 6 has him sleeping in a picture frame in his office. |

He's dead. Considering all that JK has to wrap up in the 7th book I seriously doubt she'd have time to explain how Dumbledore somehow isn't dead. I do think that we'll see him as a portrait though

Let me tell you, I seriously believe that J.K Rowling is ruining her books by not only killing off Sirius but killing off Dumbledore too. She's losing a lot of fans.  I really hope Dumbledore and Sirius aren't dead, but it doesn't look like it.l

Oh I didn't know Dumbledore had a brother!? Wow, but they'd have to be like twins or something and look REALLY alike. I hope he'll come back in portrait form anywho. |
