Ah, another author who's works I grew up reading..
I always loved the Magical Faraway Tree...an utter focus of imagination, absolutely unique and the most magic thing I've ever read!
I treasured that book with my life.

Did she write the famous Five / Secret Seven books, or am I confusing her with someone else? Because I loved those books soooooo much :D especially the Secret Seven

I think I read the Magical Faraway Tree once, it was really good

I've read all the Malory Towers, Saint Clares and Faraway Tree books. They're brilliant! She also wrote things like the Family at Redroofs, didn't she?

She did write all of the above, yes.

Although The Magic Faraway Tree was always my favourite. No matter what!

Unfortunately, my brother tore a lot of the pages out by mistreating it...
So, my copy is loved but very maimed...
I almost killed him for that. v_v

I love Enid Blyton! I used to always read the Famous Five/Secret Seven books, and when I was little, my mum read The Magic Faraway Tree to me. :) Ah, sweet nostalgia.

Hehehe, my sister was listening to a Famous Five audio book the other day. :p

When I was around 10-12 I loved the Famous Five (I read all twenty one of them... :p), and The Five-Find-outers - anyone else read the mystery of the bunrt cottage? I also read all the 'Adventure' books, being the island of adventure, the mountain of adventure, the castle of... etc, and most of the Mallory Towers books.

(My sister informs me that Enid Blyton wrote the Adventure of Cherry Tree farm and the adventures of willow farm... as well...)

I was completely obsessed with the Faraway tree books, and the Wishing Chair books when I was around seven as well. :) My little sister was reading those last year (for fun, i read most of them too her) and I was miffed to discover that there was a third Wishing Chair book I didn't know about! I wouldn't want to read it now, but I wish I had known of its existance when I was eight! :(

Aww, I have all three books in one. ^_^'

I think my favourite characters were Moon-Face and Saucepan.
Because Moon-Face just always knew everything and everyone, and Saucepan was hilarious.

I remember the time when he has all his pots and pans taken away, and they don't recognise him...
Ah, yes..I loved those books. I just went and got it from my bookshelves to read a chapter.

I loved the Find-Outers. I always thought Fatty was hilarious the way he always boasted about things and how he disguised himself. And Mr Goon trying to outsmart them ... wonderful!!

As for the third wishing-chair book. What third one????!!!!!

I grew up with the famous 5 too! And this is really embarrasing.. But till this moment I always thought Enid Blyton was a man... No one told me she wasn't!!
Erm.. but at least I learned something new today..
