Post subject:  The Tale of Despereaux
This is a book by Kate DiCamillo (also Because of Winn-Dixie) and The Amazing Journey of Edward Tulane. Although the book seems like its positioned for the younger set, it has a lot of very philiosphical questions raised in it. (Even Edward Tulane is the same, although simpler)

I highly recommend this author. She has an excellent narrative style, appealing characters, interesting situations, and so forth. Her books are now all being optioned for films, and its easy to see why. Winn-Dixie is an excellent book that didn't translate well onto the screen.

Despereaux is about a mouse in love with a Princess. Check it out.

i like swans now ... i went to Stratford to watch shakespeare, i saw swans. i went to Muskoka Woods for camp and i saw swans ... i just grew attached to them, theyre SO pretty!

My family got the book on tape a while back, and it wasn't too bad. My brother and mom loved it, while I was not quite as enthralled. I think I simply didn't like the narrative style.
