Try not to lump all those music styles into one category; they are actually quite different from each other.
sorry, but i generally hate them all just as much so i lump them together for ease of reference.

btw don't disrespect r'n'b because it's true meaning is Rhythm and Blues
Thats one thing that annoys me though, rnb means rhythm and blues, yet it's changed to... hey what does it mean in the context of rap?

SOME rap is okay, I just can't stand the videos. I mean, who wants to see half naked girls dancing around cars and clubs. I DON'T! Me, I'm more into modern and classic rock. But I'll listen to anything - except country.

That's true. The interpretations of music styles have certainly changed since the past, maybe not positively.
But that doesn't mean you should group rap together with R&B. Remember they're two seperate styles of music. Personally I don't like rap, because I like music with a melody. But I like some hip hop. Black Eyed Peas rule! ... heh.

I don't like rap, either. Not my style at all.
I can think of two rap songs I like - both are weird al and are basically sending up rap, so I find them amusing. So I can't say I hate rap, but it's not something I listen to.
Thankfully, nobody else I know does either - at least not in my hearing (I'm sure people at school do...) so I'm safe.

Ungh, I'm not much of a rap fan either. Actually I could quote so many of you now!
The lyrics is about nothin', crime, sex, drugs and whatever. I think today's rap is awful. BUT! There's gotta be some real stuff out there. I used to like Blue's Simon. In some of their songs from the album 'All Rise' he does a good job. But he can also sing and not many rappers can do that, can they?
I like rap if it's a good text mixed in a song, a SONG with real instruments, melody and all that. Unfortunately you don't find that very often. I haven't. Linkin Park. They do it right. But not my favourite kind of music.

Rap bugs me. I don' mind R&B with people like destiny's child(not Beyonce solo....I mean the group DESTINY'S CHILD) But I hate being in the car with my nine year old brother and my 13 year old sister and have to have my brother listen to those horrible lyrics just because my sister likes it. It's not appropriate at all. It's pointless. How ever I like Kanye West's song "Jesus Walks" and I like Black Eyed Peas and Outkast.

That's exactly what I was going to write. I truly do hate lumping them all together as some of you say; but in today's music (rap/r&b) sadly that's all it has become. All the same. Like I said before, the original stuff is good. I mean have we really become so ignorant that this is all we listen to? Bah!

It's certainly not anything of my taste, I listen to electronica, and some classical, if you haven't heard of electronica visit www.di.fm and click on Trance,Vocal Trance, or Hardcore give it a good listen

I don't like rap, although there are a couple of artists in the rap/hip-hop category that I like: Outkast and I love K-os. But that's it! And K-os is a lot different than other hip hop stuff; his lyrics aren't at all about sex, and drugs They actually have a meaning.
I can't stand 50 cent!!!! The videos are horrible!! I've actually never in my life watched an entire rap video because after about 5 seconds I change the channel. The worst messages that you could possibly get are contained in rap lyrics and videos.

I'm not really a rap fan either. I want music where I can actually understand the bloody lyrics! When people at my school start talking about Usher (YUCK!) I'm completly out of the conversation.

I actually forgot!
In denmark we have some good rappers. They don't rap about the usual stuff.. they're not gangstas (thank the lord). A group called Humleridderne is good, although I've only read one of their texts.
Another one is MC Einar. I don't know where he is anymore, but he also wrote some good and funny songs. about the crazy world we live in and stuff like that. although it's not my taste of music I like it. there's brain in it. Awesome.

I actually have a rap song I like(Well, it is classifiedas alternative, but...)! I bought Feel Good Inc. by Gorrilaz the other day because of the part used in the Ipod commercials, not realising that a lot of it is rap, and loved it. *Begins singing along* The video is really cool(It is animated!) and actually has a message(!)*Begins the song for fourth time in a row*

I don't like rap either. It's annoying and they don't have any musical talent. At least rock singers have to piece chords together. But I do like techno music. It takes an ear for music to be able to sift through alot of sound effects and mix them together. But my favorite part is that sometimes they use a synthisyser! *is a piano geek*
