I'd probably pick something with a chill, "everything's gonna be alright" feel. Maybe "Let the Good Times Roll" by Grateful Dead. I'm a hippie even in death |

How about Aint no Sunshine When She's Gone? Maybe not.. Like Nie I think I'd pick traditional hymns because I love them. I'd even have the very traditional The Lord is my Sheperd. And I think finishing on Thine be the Glory would be good, ending on a hopefull note. I like In Christ Alone too. If anyone picks a James Blunt song for it I will come back and haunt them |

Of course "The Grey Havens" and "Into the West" are both amazing songs, but I think only a few people at the funeral would truly appreciate them I'd have to say I'd pick "The Cure for Pain" by Jon Foreman. It's just...awesome. ...but the water keeps on fallin' from my eyes Heaven knows, heaven knows... I try to find the Cure for the Pain Oh, my Lord! To suffer like You do... It would be a lie to run away... And the whole mood of the song is just perfect. Here's a live performance (doesn't start until a few minutes in): http://youtube.com/watch?v=KDR2ezI7-FA |

Just out of spite, I would want super irony, and just mess with people hardcore. So... Feeling Good--Muse Ask Me How I Am--Snow Patrol Barely Breathing--Duncan Sheik Every Breath You Take--The Police There's plenty of others, but those are the ones that make me laugh the most. And I'm really that kind of person. So I really would do it. |

I would have 'Into The West' by Annie Lennox. I've alrady decided that. Also a song by Jethro Tull, probably 'The Whistler'. And maybe 'I Wsih' by Lioghthouse Family. But there are a number of songs that could fit that third slot, like 'The Boys Of Summer' by Don Henley... |

^Wow, I'd worry that people would get depressed if they heard "Time" at a funeral, though. |

Songs For Aging Children Come by Joni Mitchell Through the windless wells of wonder By the throbbing light machine In a tea leaf trance or under Orders from the king and queen Songs to aging children come Aging children, I am one People hurry by so quickly Don't they hear the melodies In the chiming and the clicking And the laughing harmonies Songs to aging children come Aging children, I am one Some come dark and strange like dying Crows and ravens whistling Lines of weeping, strings of crying So much said in listening Songs to aging children come Aging children, I am one Does the moon play only silver When it strums the galaxy Dying roses will they will their Perfumed rhapsodies to me Songs to aging children came This is one |

I want happy music played at my funeral - I want it to be a celebration, not a time for mourning. I don't have a lot of specific wishes... but here's a song I think would be really awesome: The Calling wrote: "Our Lives"
Is there love tonight When everyone's dreaming Of a better life? In this world Divided by fear We've gotta believe that There's a reason we're here Yeah, there's a reason we're here Cause these are the days worth living These are the years we're given And these are the moments These are the times Let's make the best out of our lives See the truth all around Our faith can be broken And our hands can be bound But open our hearts and fill up the emptiness With nothing to stop us Is it not worth the risk? Yeah, is it not worth the risk? Cause these are the days worth living These are the years we're given And these are the moments These are the times Let's make the best out of our lives Even if hope was shattered I know it wouldn't matter Cause these are the moments These are the times Let's make the best out of our lives We can't go on Thinking it's wrong To speak our minds I've gotta let out what's inside Is there love tonight When everyone's dreaming Can we get it right? Yeah, well can we get it right? Cause these are the days worth living These are the years we're given And these are the moments These are the times Let's make the best out of our lives Even if hope was shattered I know it wouldn't matter Because these are the moments These are the times Let's make the best out of our lives... |

And then I'd start laughing. Hard. I always laugh at inappropriate times! |

I still think Ask Me How I Am would be the perfect funeral song. |

Either "Village Lanterne" by Blackmore's Night, "Into The West" by Annie Lennox or "Matkan Lopussa" by Moonsorrow. Or all three. Lyrics for those three songs are SO fitting and so powerful in that sense. Jarisleif wrote: Hmmm mine would have you be "I Will Find You" by Clannad... or "Sailing Away" by Moya Brennan... both just seem so appropriate
I LOVE that song! And the movie. |

Well, 'Wonderwall' by Oasis, obviously. 'Never Think' by Rob Pattinson, 'Missing you' by Puff Daddy and last but not least 'Death and all of his friends' by Coldplay. |
