The correct way to say what you said is "Mine needs to be cleaned too, but it's not happening," NOT "Mine needs cleaned too, but it's not happening." See the difference? That's Pennsylvania Dutch, the most annoying little accent thing ever. When I moved to PA from Texas, I spent two years getting rid of my southern drawl, only to be assaulted by you Pennsylvanians and your complete lack of the words "to be". My quest to be as accentless as possible has become an uphill battle against the loss of those two little words. I even think in Pennsylvania Dutch, but I have never, EVER uttered it aloud. And that is why I screamed at you in all caps.
I will, as soon as I rule the universe.

I'm OCD about my language skills. People think I'm a snob because I use words with more than three syllables regularly and am constantly praised for my perfect diction.

I agree with LoR. *nods* I always thought you talked funny.
I can't help it. I was born and raised here. It's all I know. I don't even realize I'm doing it. It's even worse when you're from Pittsburgh, though my Pittsburgh accent isn't that bad.
Good. Make it a priority.

^DO YOU WANT TO MAKE ME SHOOT MYSELF? Now all of your posts are going to sound like that in my head.
Starlight:...How do I talk funny? Besides how awesomely I do it, of course.
Do you have any idea how hard it is to lose a southern accent?
I understand that it's completely subconscious, but it still makes me die a little inside every time I hear it, and I've never seen it typed before. Most people write it correctly, but omit the words when speaking. And as I remember, you don't talk with that bad of an accent.
I will.

I am moving to England, where all of the accents, no matter how harsh, are sexy.

Whoa. This is a craziness of the tim4x that I have never seen before.
I don't know. You just sound odd to me. But that's also probably because I had preconceived ideas of your voice before I heard you speak.
No, but I'm so glad you did, because I HATE them. With almost more ferocity than you hate Pennsylvania Dutch apparently.
I honestly don't analyze that carefully. I'm surprised you caught that. And I don't think I do at all, but my dad says I do. I do say yinz sometimes, but only to be weird. And I use all the Pittsburgh words for things. Like sweeper and hoagie and pop.
On/Off -Snow Patrol
EDIT: But I completely agree about the British accent thing. I pick accents up really quickly too, so it wouldn;t take me that long if I went there. Which I will. Someday.

Sweeper and Hoagie? That's awesome!
I use the phrases "Wicked Awesome" and "Wicked Smaht"
and then there's jimmies (sprinkles) and bubbler (water fountain)

Yep.
Wicked smaht. I like it. Jimmies I've heard, but not bubbler.

You are all going to drive me into a fetal position with much thumb sucking.
I just cannot stand American accents. They're all so unattractive.
I really want to know specifically. *Whines* Go watch the video again or something. How did I sound beforehand in your head then?
They're disgusting. One of the main reasons I dread visiting my grandparents is the fourteen solid days of "HEEEEY Y'ALL!" *Shudders*
I wouldn't have caught it if I didn't obsess like I do. Again, I don't think you have anything worse that the average State College resident, which isn't that bad.
