A lot of my music I've got from the library. I like that because if I don't like the CD, it's not like I've paid money for it, and if I do ... I tend to copy it to the computer... probably not legal, but *shrugs* I've also got music off some of my friends, but the rest of my music collection either belongs to me, or my family. (I keep on commandeering their CDs!) |

Many years ago,I used to buy CDs and the sad thing about that is that I only liked 2 or 3 songs. Now, I get my music on the internet thanks to Limewire. |

I buy most of my cds, but I get music from friends occasionally. I borrow cds from the library every once and awhile, but the selection is limited. If its an artist I really like and want to support, I will buy the cd, I refuse to burn it. I also refuse to burn cds from idie artists, because they don't make much money, unlike most signed bands. |

I usually buy my Cd's (Go CD Warehouse!) but I'll listen to clip of the artist/borrow a CD from the library before I actually buy anything. |

About 50/50. Buy/Download Having a baby makes it harder to spend spare money on frivolous things like cd's so when I'm short on cash I will resort to Lime Wire. To be fair though, most of the things I download I own on vinyl and not having an old turntable kinda makes it hard to listen to them. So I download. |

What bugs me is that the RIAA thinks that even if you buy a cd, and it breaks, then you still can't download it. That just seems like greed. One of my cds got horribly scratched up, but I didn't buy another one, I downloaded it again! Why would I pay for the same CD twice? Maybe I'm wrong here...what would you do? |

Maybe I'm wrong here...what would you do? Well, maybe every time you bought a CD, you could save the tracks to your computer, and if the hard copy got scratched, you could burn yourself a new copy from the tracks on your computer...just a thought. Most of the music I listen to is from the library. I have a very limited CD collection (too expensive to buy lots), I don't believe in downloading music via file-sharing programs, and I haven't tried iTunes yet. So, if I hear a band that sounds cool, or know of a good soundtrack, I'll check it out from the library. Usually I end up deeming it mediocre, so I'm perfectly content to return it to the library, but when I find a CD I really really like, I'll shell out the money to buy a hard copy. |
