A topic for phantom of the opera
My favorite song is masquerade
because of the message it gives of not hiding
who you truly are.

we had to sing a phantom medley for summer
drama camp it was a mix of the phantom theme and then it was think of me but the boys sang think of me think of me waking.... and then there was angel of music, all I ask of you part of masquerade starting with masquerade paper faces on parade.
and then we sang point of no return and for masquerade we had to make our own masks to hold up for the song

I love Little Lotte/The Mirror and the whole leading up to The Phantom of the Opera (the song) lol and of course the song itself. I prefer the music from the live show to the movie though. The movie was perfect visually but definitely lacked in the music department (both as far as the vocals go as well as the orchestration).

if i could only see (or hear for that matter) the real play i would be qualified to answer this question almost completly accuratly...but the movie was not that bad with the music(cant say anything about the orchestra... ) but the vocals were pretty good( except for raoul, im sorry but did someone else notice raoul's constant wavering of the voice? it did not suit him at all as it suits other male opera artists...actually it really struck me as absolutly annoying)

The music in the movie wasn't bad, it just wasn't as good as it could have been compared to the live show. Christine had a very good voice, but the Phantom did not. I love Gerard Butler but he should not have been the Phantom. The Phantom is supposed to have an excellent voice and well.. Gerard does not.

oh, i dont know....gerard has a great voice i think....and i find it quite suprising how high he can drive it without it sounding forcefull, he can drive his voice from being quite gentle to painfully wrathfull....also his voice is very...enchanting...ummm i dont know how to decribe it, but the songs(like...music of the night) suit his voice perfectly...he might not have an inhumanly perfect voice, (like how i imagine the phantom would have) but i think it would be would be hard to find someone with such a voice....

I have both soundtracks. I prefer Gerard's voice to Michael Crawfords. But I still love my old tape of the broadway soundtrack..
I haven't listened to my soundtracks in forever. I might have to give one a listen tonight.
