I have to agree, an all over awesome band. They are really different and good, even with the slightly out of the norm of rock flute.

Yep, they did a song called 'living in the past'.

Jethro Tull as a 'he' was a 13th century scientist or something, who invented the seed drill.
Jethro Tull musically is a 'they', as they are a band. Just thought I'd clear that up, seeing as lots of persons are under the impression the band Jethro Tull is just one person. :-D

Been a fan of Jethro Tull for a loooong time! Seen them live a couple times! I always loved catching people on this back in the 70's! Of course that was after I was caught on it.

The lead singer/flute player is Ian Anderson if you want to attach a name to him.

I really want to see them again at some point. Trying to see more stuff live generally as well. Only one gig this year so far (in november) so I need to get my backside into gear me thinks!

I just had to share one ov the best live shows ever. Saw him this tour in Seattle. It was mind-blowing. If you ever have a chance to see Tull live, do it! You wont regret it. He's been going since the late 60's, and now is pushing age 65 and he's still going strong on stage!

Saw Jethro Tull in Seattle in July 1975, the summer before I headed into my senior year of high school. Met a girl after the show as we played in the water of International Fountain outside the Coliseum (it was a warm night). Found out she would be going to my school her junior year, and she became my girlfriend.

I saw Jethro Tull again in August 1976, the summer after I graduated high school. It was a couple weeks after
this Tampa Florida show, but I was pretty wasted on some mind-altering substance and don't remember much other than the music was really really good. After the show, we again played in the International Fountain (again, it was a warm night), and for reasons unremembered by me, my girlfriend broke up with me that night. It may of had something to do with the girl whose house I woke up at the next morning? That girl would later become my girlfriend, and a year later, become my wife and give birth to my eldest son. Hadn't seen Tull since, but they will be at the Byron Bay Bluesfest in April, so maybe will go see him again.

"Aqualung" is one of my absolutely favorite albums! Not one weak song on it!

My favorite band growing up. Saw them live "long ago"... Songs From The Wood tour, and still listening today on my i-pod shuffle (or whatever it's called).

Have you seen Jack-In-The-Green?

:)

Last Year got a DVD. It's an old concert (Ian's long ripped checkered jacket days), ah my memory... think it's a bit of an Isle of Wight concert, 1970.

I bought a five-CD boxlet with “Aqualung” “A Passion Play”, “Minstrel In The Gallery”, “Too Old To Rock ‘n’ Roll, Too Young To Die” and “Songs From The Wood” included fairly long ago. As I vaguely remember also buying similar collector CD packages of Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Doobie Brothers and The Doors (this the six-CD complete Jim Morrison set), it would have been my most awesome single-day purchase of music ever. :guitar:
