Who do you think are good drummers? Neil Peart of Rush is one of the most technical drummers I have ever heard. If you have heard Tom Sawyer or YYZ you will hear just how talented the man really is and how he uses the whole drum kit effect, and if you've ever seen his kit then you'll understand. John Henry Bonham of Led Zeppelin is arguably the greatest drummer who ever lived and never took a lesson. Highlights include Moby Dick and Rock and Roll. Moby Dick live is incredable, just amazing. Phil Rudd of AC/DC. Ok he's nothing special techincally but he is able to hold down the beat very well and in my opnion is the coolest. Dave Lombardo of Slayer. Just a brilliant metal drummer, can do some very good double bass. |

Hmm... I'll try and add to that. Great list btw. Gene Hoglan - Strapping Young Lad - This guy has to be heard to believed. Igor Cavalera - Sepultura - Very tribal, very fast, very talented. Raymond Herrera - Fear Factory - Fast and technical. Charlie Benante - Anthrax - Charlie don't cheat. Nuff said. Bill Ward - Black Sabbath - Legend Vinnie Paul - Pantera/Damageplan - Beefy, Fast and Brutal. I'll think of some more later |

I used to drum a long time ago. But when we moved house I had to give up my kit as my new room had no space for it. ![]() |

Bill Ward reminded me of another fantastic drummer: Cozzy Powel. I once saw his kit for sale in Birmingham, the price tag just said "Serious Offers Only" I think that speaks for itself ![]() |

I know of this drummer, I totally dont know his name or what band he's from but I remember reading about it, He's from a realy well known band, he was a great drummer then he was in a car accident and lost one of his arms. The band took a few months off for hm to recover and then set up a drumkit so he could still play with one arm, and he was still just as exeptionally great. I thought that that was totally awesome. |

I dunno his name, but the drummer from Trans-Siberian Orchestra kicked major-you-know-what! They gave him like a 5 minute solo, and he was just freaking out! Oh man, I got chills! John Henry's gotta be one of my favorites too, though. |

I think the guy you mean is Rick Allen from Def Leppard. I'm not a fan of the band at all...but he's still a pretty tight drummer. |
