The new Richard Lange Minute Repeater operates like a fairly conventional (if there is
link such a thing) minute repeater. There's a sliding pusher integrated into the left-side caseband that engages the chiming mechanism; once actuated, the hours, quarter-hours, and minutes are rung in succession using a
link pair of gongs. The gongs are
link set to different pitches and operate off a mechanical program that can audibly indicate precisely 720 different sequences. (FYI, there are 720 minutes every 12 hours.)
