[How am I supposed to eat with a cut in my lip. That's not cool. Also, here we go.]
As the door opened, the guests were met with the new and familiar faces of Pliff and Yusef, already dressed in their maid and butler attire and they had never looked more spiffing in them. Between them, was the sight of a rough collie, it's tongue lolling and her eyes peeked up at the guests.
She began to bark.

[Awwww a dog!!! And Yippie kay yay for Yusef and Pliff!!!  ]
Eä lowered her sword - slightly disappointed - at the sight of the collie. She was even more excited to see the dear servants from last year though. In fact, Eä was a surprised how much you could miss so incompetent servants, but nevertheless Eä felt overjoyed - or perhaps it was more of a nostalgic feeling.
"Oh... what a surprise. Welcome ... back. How do you do?"

The Horseman followed Kit as she went to the front door.
"Well how do you do?" he said as he saw Pliff and Yusef standing on the doorstep. "It's so good to see you" he said, looking down at the dog he added "what a handsome looking animal, what is his name?"

[Kit is not present, as you will soon find out why.]
"We don't really know, sir," Pliff responded, polite as always but shivered just a bit. Yusef noticed this and ushered her inside, along with the dog.
The rough collie kept barking even as it was ushered into the mansion. Now it was turning around in circles and they noticed that the tail was dangerous low.
"We found her on our way here and she was barking rather madly, still, and she hasn't stopped since we'd found her." Yusef said.

"Oh, dear" said The Horseman closing the door behind them. "Perhaps she just needs feeding" he said, as he pulled a dog sdish complete with food from under his cloak and placed it on the floor.

[Consider Kit like... extremely hung over right now and incapacitated in her room or something.  ]
"A wondrous trick, sir," Yusef complimented and </i>almost</i> felt embarrassed since it was a task that could be defined as his <i>job</i>. But he wasn't.
The dog sniffed at the food and continued to bark, kicked the bowl away letting the food spill here and there. She barked louder now, and directly at the Horseman as though he had offended her!
Pliff sighed, clearly exasperated. "How long can she go <i>on</i> for? We were walking on the road here and she was by a well and she just kept <i>barking</i> like mad, and we tried to see what it was that was the matter, but all she did was keep barking so we tried to leave her there, but she insisted on following us!"

"Hmm..." said The Horseman, tapping his er... *ahem* .... "at the well you say...hmmm".
"Dogs are very instintive about things, and are excellent at finding bodies you know. Oh yes" he continued looking at the astonished stares from the former servants. "You wouldn't believe the amount of dead people dog walkers find. Perhaps there was something in the well, she wanted to tell you about" he offered.
"After all that has happened this year" he said giving the former servants a knowing look. "I wouldn't be surprised if we found something".

Yusef and Pliff looked at each other and sighed.
"We had hoped there wouldn't be more bodies this year," Yusef hung his head. "Are they in the morgue?"
The dog continued to bark.
"Oh, please, let us do whatever we can to <i>shut this thing up</i>!" Pliff cried, "The Horseman's got a point, if all that stuff about dogs being instinctive is true, than perhaps someone's had an accident at the well. We should go back."
"It's cold out."
"Go put on a coat."
"I don't <i>have</i> one here."
"Oh, would you stop your bickering," the sound of Kit's voice could be heard from afar. "This was half the reason why I had to let you lot go. You spent more time arguing over who should do the chore than actually doing it."
Kit's ghostly form appeared before everyone. "Well, I'm glad you're all happy about this. Now I'm dead."

"I have tried" he said, pointing to the dog food.
"But maybe this will work" he he pulled out from under his cloak a squeakie carrot. "Fecth" he said as he threw the toy down the hallway.
[notice how I cleverly threw in a reference to '07 Hallowfest]
The Horseman turned as he heard Kit's voice, and if it was not for the fact he was already without a head, he would have lost it in shock at the sight of Kit.
"Kit!" he cried. "Yo---y-- you are dead!?" he shouted, managing to catch Ea as she too took the news badly. "B--bb--bb--bbut" he stammered unable to say anything coherent.
